i find that really cheap im looking at charing about 125 for all that if not more. i guees it depends on where you are detailng anf for who. I live in an area with money ( I have non im in soo much debt with all the stuffi buy its an addiciton) but i can charge more becasue its full of high end cars. if you live in an area or town will beat up old cars that people drive becasue they cant afford a new one even though they want and need one then u will have to chrge less. whast the area like?

i cant say if it your pricing low or to high because as stated your location...if i were you find out what mobile detailer charge also car wash and body shops and dealers to get an idea of price range

hahha...thats def. my town....noone cares around here! its full of old p/ups and cheap imports. Chicken farming is the biggest thing here. Frank Perdue was born here for example.

the only thing ppl care about around here is saving a buck

i did a miata yesterday and i did what i listed (exterior) and i took like 1:15 mins, so i figured 55 an hour aint that bad. miatas are really small tho. other detail shops charge around that price. I mean obviously if i was removing swirls or severe oxidation i would charge more. Those prices are just for your basic basic exterior detail.

Thanks guys

Without knowing your market I would say those prices seem a little low. You may be surprised that if you bumped up your prices that the quality of vehicles will improve. I noticed when I opened my second store in a more middle class town(Saco) compared to my flagship location(Kennebunkport), the customers were looking for more because they did keep their cars longer. Customers in Saco are twice as likely to ask what the service includes and the benefits to each step; whereas, the K'Port customers ask how much and when can I get in. My high end customers know they will get a new car in a couple of years; therefore, not necessarily looking for my premium services. If you don't differentiate yourself from your competition in pricing, what indicator is there for the discriminating customer to know to come to you? Meaning, most people associate price with quality and if you have the average price... you will have the average customer.

My exterior pricing begins at $115.50 and goes up from there. That does not include swirl or scratch removal! I like nothing more than when a customer asks me how I charge more than my 'competitors', gives me a chance to distinguish myself from the other guys who happen to call themselves detailers.

I base my prices on an hourly rate. After you have been doing this for awhile you know how long it will take to do a job once you have seen it. I quote the price on site after I have seen the job. Advertising your prices is a little dangerous because sometimes you make out like a bandit and sometimes you get screwed. However, for a full time operation you don't have much choice but to advertise your prices. I do that too to some extent. I know that a basic wash and wax and interior is going to take me around 2 hours, so I charge $90 bucks. The typical job averages between 90 and 120 for me and the types of cars that I detail. I'm happy with that rate considering I don't have any overhead. I can bust out 3 or 4 cars a day at that rate and be perfectly happy on my days off from my real job.
