Pressurized spray bottles: Anybody into these?

I've found these to be handy devices for frequently-used chemicals that I would apply during a weekly cleaning routine. I'm keeping wheel cleaner in one and APC in the other.

I just got this SOLO unit a few days ago and haven't really used. I checked the spray pattern with water and it will produce a very fine mist or a long stream (think backyard water fights ;) ). The SOLO is one of those unexpected pleasant surprises. The quality is good, action is smooth and I'm hoping the seals last a long time. I selected this model as it advertises Viton which should be resistant to many of the chems we use.

I looked at a few units at HD...they were crap or the tanks too large. I pumped them up in the store and you could tell there was going to be an issue with air leaks. Three of the 5 units I tried were leaking down.

The yellow unit pictured abouve was $11 at my local hdwe store. They had a few other choices, this was the most compact volume. Quality seem decent. Spray pattern is just fine.

The SOLO was $12 + ship.

Very cool. Yet another thing to buy.

:grinno: I think they're fairly handy for those frequently-used cleaners. I'm sure folks have lot of other apps.

I have a large version designed for garden use, with a long sprayer, and shoulder strap. I use it a lot for applying pre-wash products, degreasers, APC etc. Ideal as they can be mixed and left, and an easy way to get into wheel arches and door shuts etc.

Do a search for solo 418 on ebay. Go to the bottom of the page where you will see one listing for an "ebay store" seller. The price is $10.95+$5.50 shipping and $1 shipping for each additional item.

So I got 4 for $13.xx shipped each.

Thanks again Tom for bringing these to our attention.

Is you Solo rebuildable ? I looked at that.

FWIW, guys, solo makes three in this model type. The 2 others have a longer nose-extension on it.

I myself am totally into sprayer. Had a HD RL Flomaster one. It started to lose air compression and was not ---repairable---rebuildable due to design.

I went on a search to find the best handheld 1 liter sprayer around. Found one that paint artists - theather set guys use - cost me around $40 each but it's very nice. 15-20 pumps will last the whole bottle container....and it's totally rebuildable, built very robust for commercial duty, etc.

Bryan, have you had any experience spraying more viscous products with the SOLO? I'm thinking about products like the P21S Gel wheel cleaner or the Surf City Garage Road Trip Grime Destroyer ?

Thx.

Great. Part #9 or #15....was where I was leaking air in my original one.

I actually use these for 1 of the things you listed. I have one container setup with P21S Gel and another with P21S Total Auto Wash. I hated the sprayers that come stock and these really help with how much I spray/atomize the product.

I use them to prespray the shampoo before a wash. I find it helps reduce marring. I've used the cheap ones ($2.50) and they work ok, but I found out one shouldn't leave the shampoo solution in the bottle. It ended up leaking into the tube and basically ruining the mechanism. (Tried taking it apart, drying it and rebuilding it. No go.)

Bryan, that's a smokin' deal. I'll probably order a few more.

Do you have long-term experience with these? Any issues or concerns?

Thx.
