This is unreal Billy. Truly awesome awesome work!

Really appreciate it! I was very pleased with the outcome of this car! It always helps to have a cool car in a even better color! Ok, maybe some of it was my fault. ;)

really nice billy

was that another z I spied in the garage as well.

this is one case where the coupe is miles above the look of the roadster.

I had an 07 350z roadster and I thought the look was much better than the coupe

Black.......lovely

p.s. I got my new exhaust on

I need some tips on how to prep and protect the tips. A bit larger and they stick out a little more so i need to give them more love

great work!!! the m105 finish loks great, the KB method may also be useful for those hard clearcoats great work and nice corrections. Maybe m105 will replace the load of polishes on others detailing tool list.

I am also a very big fan of Blackfire Wet Diamond, Seems to be getting a bit popular on here.

How do you like the wet diamond sealant?

Hey Aleic, forgot you were a Z enthusiast before! Yes, your right, you spied a 350z. Believe it or not, the 370z is the DD so he can keep the 350 parked. He bought that one new as well, has all the upgrades and some rare options(I forget exactly). Only has like 30k on it and think its a MY02.

As for your tips, a good metal polish.I like Adams #2 and some #0000 steel wool will keep them looking good at all times!

Glad you found the forum! Or atleast are posting on it more! ;)

I dont think there is anything else on the market, no matter how fancy or expensive it is that will bring me away from BFWD. Have you tried midnight sun as well? I just picked some up and its just as awesome as the sealant!

SUH-WEEETTT !!! :getdown Billy, you always seem to make things work, and you never doubt that a product or method COULD work.

You make it look easy even though it could not possibly be working in 90+ degrees with a 90%+ humidity.

The hottest I have ever been was in Florida, 98 degrees & 98% humidity.

And I wasn't even working!

I am happy to hear you gave the M105 a try to final polish... I still do this often.

It does take a bit of finessing, patience, and desire.

This has been mentioned many times before... Use the following as a starting point to final polish using M105:

  • Use a suitable pad that is compatible with the paint type (it should not mar the surface)
  • Prime the pad thoroughly rubbing the M105 into the pores with your hand
  • Let the pad sit for a few minutes so the liquid can permeate the foam
  • Minimize the amount of product by running the pad into a microfiber towel until most of the visible liquid is removed
  • Add a 4-6 small dots of M105 to the pad
  • Polish using FIRM pressure, (not heavy- the goal is to make sure the entire pad is in contact with the paint surface, and the machine movement is efficiently transferred to the pad face)
  • Use a low speed setting (just enough to allow the pad to spin)
  • Polish moving the machine slowly, and clean the pad OFTEN to removed the abraded paint residue
  • Add M105 as needed, and blow the pad clean with compressed air OFTEN (if available)

I don't know if you used this procedure or a similar one, but the car looks outstanding! :2thumbs:

Thanks Kevin! I was real surprised that my M205 was not working, but even more surprised the the M105 finished SO WELL! Remember about last Novemeber I was just getting into this M105 stuff looking at it like Ill never figure it out, and on foam looked like an even bigger feat for me! Well, I can say that me and M105/205 have come a long ways, and Ill do what I can to use it to its capability before I try something else! ;)

Thanks Barry! It takes a bit longer to add all that, but I think its worth the effort in the end! :work:

wow, learned a new technique on M105 with the DA.

Thanks for sharing.

I had some computer monitor problems, that car looked too glossy and perfect :)

No matter what I did, the car just looked too amazing to believe ;)

That is one sexy a$$ car!! Great job and great recovery!! You have peaked my interest about M105. Never really gave Meguiar's a second though but I might have to give it a shot now!!

Questions about your flooring: How much of a PITA is it to keep clean? How does it handle the heat from the tired? What kind is it?

Thanks!!

This is my first 370Z that I've seen to be detailed by an autopian and it looks simply fantastic. And the pictures are great too. I'll tell 'ya, for an automatic tranny the 370 really surprised me. The manual tranny isn't that much better. And the automatic really, really PUNCHES the throttle when downshifting. It sounds better than doing it with the manual tranny, and I can't figure out why. I hope you enjoyed the drive as much as you enjoyed detailing the vehicle. You've got me tempted to try the Blackfire lsp. And those wheels were a breeze to clean right???

Thanks! M105 is my GO TO product, M205 is right there behind it. I couldnt imagine detailing without them now!

The detail was done at the owners house, so its not my flooring, however it seemed pretty easy to clean up, not sure about the tire heat issue though..

Thanks! It was a very sweet car, to be honest I dont like the 350z very much, but the 370z is a completely different monster. The auto/paddles were very responsive, it will actual begin to spin into second if you nail the 1-2 shift. I would still rather have the 6MT, but the auto is faster for sure.

As for Blackfire, its really going to take a miracle product to get me off of this stuff, it looks AMAZING, VERY easy to apply/remove. I can literraly apply and remove it from the car in 15 minutes and move on. Durability is also very good! Beware, if you try it you wont be putting that bottle down! :grinno:

Solid work man, very solid!!!

Threads like these are why I joined this forum!

Very impressive set up you have there by the way.
