This is one of my dream cars, the GT3 RS being my top dream car. ;) This car was very well kept and had all the options including the ceramic composite brakes. Nothing short of an amazing car! Unfortunately a rotary was put into the wrong hands and let loose on this unfortunate 911 Turbo! There were crazy amounts of holograms and swirls in the paint, which needed to be removed ASAP.

The owner was nice enough to deliver the car clean. This is not how he generally leaves the car, but it had just rained and he knew I would be taking care of it.

I performed an ONR wash inside due to the extreme heat and direct sunlight.

I was amazed at how quickly these bird droppings etched into the paint and even more amazed that it was completely removed with little effort of the rotary.

Remember that other detailer? Here was his idea of a good job.

My test panel after SIP/PFW followed by M205/Orange.

50/50.

After SIP/PFW via rotary. Shows just how soft Porsche paint can be.

After M205/Orange via DA.

I was in a bit of a rush so I unfortunately did not get any during shots of the sides of the car, but trust me they were just as bad as the front. I did manage to get some shots of the rear of the car being completed.

The trunk portion was carefully taped off to ensure every panel was corrected.

Now for some final shots..

That looks incredible, Great job. I just can't believe that someone would release a car back to the customer in the condition that it was in.

What a beautiful car, and a great job! :bigups Love the pic#3 hood shot! what did you use on the exhaust tips?

I have been testing out 205 and it's a great polish. I like it better with a polishing pad, I first starting testing it with black finishing. I'll have to try the orange pad on harder paints were the polishing pad don't cut it. Gotta love the versatility. I'm cleaning stuff up with 205 that I thought was only possible with 105.

PS. Who is the guy with the camera, is he an insurance guy telling the owner he is no longer eligible for a new paint job through the insurance. :rofl

Beautiful.

Hope he didn't pay for the detail that messed it up.

I think I'd go nuts if anyone screwed up my car that way.

 Thats the owner 1-upping me on camera equipment! haha! He was out there doing his own photoshoot once I pulled it out in the sun! I used steel wool and Adams Metal Polish #2 on the exhaust tips.

May I ask what camera and lens setup you're using? Love the wide angle shot with the vignetting in the corners. And as usual, unreal work.

Well, the vignetting effect of the "cheap" add on wide angle is very cool. Also like the pic of the rear wing and the reflection shot that looks like we have four suns in the sky...:bigups

Boy do I know that Porsche paint is soft and sticky when trying to correct it. Ran into same issues with holograms and other nasty side effects from leveling, but with Menx 106 and a firm pad, then polish pad, then switching to P085RD and a finish pad did the finish come up really nice. I had to mist the pad several times to keep it cool, but man, once done it looks great!

You did a great job on that one!!!

Be very careful on any PCCB (Ceramic Brake) Porsche if doing a wheel-off cleaning. Customer MUST have two "wheel hangers" to guide the wheel on, otherwise you run the risk of hitting the rotor. Replacement cost of a PCCB rotor? $5,000 for ONE! I know as I have a C2S with PCCB's.

Watch the areas around doors, door jams, hood areas and engine cover for thin paint.

Yes, these are a PITA to correct!

Oh and BTW, I love the GT3RS as well. Check out the new 2010 GT3 that's hitting USA soon, with a 3.8 this time and more serious performance options.

Regards,
Deanski

Oh yea, one trick I use on exhausts tips is trim down one of those "power balls" and wrap steel wool on it, then use Flitz to really bring up the chrome really well on these. If it's a SS tip, I use a bit more agressive steel wool on the ball. Get's those hard to reach areas unless you remove them.;)

Thanks for the extra info! Gotta love the P cars! ;)

Once again great job.

I see tons of cars riding around like that around whre I work. It's a shame people pay for that.
