There's a big 20th Anniv. MR2 meet in Topeka, Kansas Jun 10-12, and I'm going and entering in the car show (how could I not?)
The car's been getting go fast part, bling parts and some detail lovin these last few weeks.
First the go fast parts:
ARC Intercooler installed, Chrome ebay TRD oil cap installed, Manual Boost Controller and Boost Gauge are in. The Boost gauge, the 2 fans you see, and a pair of other gauges (oil pressure and water temp) are waiting for the sending units, then they'll get installed above my radio on a sheet of Carbon Fiber. Additionally, some aluminum pedals (custom made kit for the MR2-not a tacky set) and if I've got time, the calipers will be painted red with silver "MR2" decals put on (though I doubt they will.) And I've got a Greddy Catch Can going in.
I had hoped to have my spare set of stock wheels back from powdercoat by then, but it's looking like not for the show (getting them in a high gloss black)
Enough talks, here are the pics. . .
The intercooler installed
Engine Bay
Now on to the exterior.
Car got AIO with a white pad about 6-8 weeks ago, and a few QD's and QEW's since then.
Process started on Memorial Day. Washed with gold class shampoo. NXT by hand. There was some streaking at this point that I've yet been able to get out. . .but no biggie.
Yesterday I did NXT with a finishing pad, misted lightly with QD before applying. The hood got #34 buffed out to try to get the streaking out.
I topped the hood with 1Z Glanz. The paint feals rough, but it's a single stage red that's in poor shape, even with all my efforts. . .
Tires were done with Meguiars Hot Shine sprayed on a terry pad and wiped on and buffed dry. This makes it less greasy and less run offs.
Today, AIO on the hood, pass fender and a few other parts that needed it. The rest of the car got another coat of NXT with a finishing pad. #34 used again on the hood and a few other parts.
Took the car to a few spots for a photoshoot.
