Is their such a thing as polishes that work better on light or dark vehicles? My Tahoe is pewter colored and I would like a polish that would optimize that color. I currently have M105, Menzerna IP and FP II, Klasse, and Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Polish. So far I have only tried the Menzerna products to get ok results. The results were an indictment of technique and not product, I must add.

I would try SIP, 106FA, and to finish it off 3M Ultrafine Machine Polish.
Isn't the 3M polish made exclusively for rotaries? I don't currently have a rotary.

Then Menzerna Final Finish PO85RD, will do the job.
Sounds similar to M105. How does it compare?

If you are currently using a PC, M105/M205 is a great combination... I've used it on my white Trans Am, light bronzemist Grand Prix, and many other light colored cars.

No, there aren't "color specific" polishes. The polish has no idea what color your car is and unless it's SS, the paint that you are polishing is clear.
You should be fine with what you have. It's going to come down to perfecting your process and technique. As Angelo recommended, 85RD would probably be more effective on your Tahoe, but you can finish with your FPII as well.
