pre soak spray nozzle?

I'm looking for a way to get some soap into the stream of water that I use to pre-soak/spray the car for the first few runs (before actually washing).

Does anyone know of a nozzle that lets you put cleaner into it?

I think miracle grow and some window washing co both make hose attachments where you put the liquid into a little resevoir and then it sprays out with the water.

any car stuff like this?

WOW, I never thought of that before.

I bought one of those Bug-B-Gon dispensers that you fill with solution in the little can and then start the hose up and spray the solution onto the car. It is available at Home Depot/Lowes/X-mart types stores. I paid around $12-$13 for it. Its a universal sprayer and you can adjust the amount of solution you dispense.

But on a hot day, I like to spray the car down with water to cool it off and allow the car shampoo to work and not dry to a film on the surface of the car.

Hi MR. Dove:

I found autopia about a year ago from one of your post on a PT Cruiser site (thanks).

I found a Simonize spary kit at PEP Boys that has a resevoir. I like this sprayer because it has a wand attachment that allows me to spray hard to reach areas. I am only 5'7" and after standing on my milk crate I can spray the top and at 56 years old I can use the wand for underneath areas without a lot of bending.

A trick I use for washing the front end is to drive up on my rhino ramps so that I can get to the lower bumper area while sitting on my milk crate. Its actually funnier than it sounds but hey it works for me.

The one that comes with the "flat hose" that is "As Seen on TV" has a nice put some soap in the nozzle feature, it doesn't really foam unless you spray it higher spray against the car.

As for garden sprayers, it's tough because you'll waste a ton of soap and you can't control the amount of mixing.

Here's the thread archived for that discussion.

To keep from wasteing soap (PBS is $$$) they do make industrial foamers (different from let's say fertilizer sprayers) that actually have nozzle tips that make foam (using less soap and creating pure foam). The foam gun allows you to mix in ratios 1/4 oz. per gallon to 14 oz. per gallon and it sprays up to 1.5 gallons per minute. So really for pure foam on the car that could be cool? I always like to soak my car anyways so I figured 1 minute of foam with 1 ounce of soap might work well.

The link to what I found on the net is in the post above. It's actually on sale like $50, and I'm going to try buy it as soon as the weather get's into the 60's (low in the high 30's all week, what's up spring?).

when I get it, i'll put it on digital video or something eventually.

... and it seems pretty good! As you can see from the informative label, it's got 12 (count 'em, 12!) precision spray settings. All kidding aside, I found it useful to be able to step the soap concentration up or down to suit the level of grime I'm dealing with. One thing I found was that Gold Class wash is too thick by itself, so I mixed it 50/50 with water to thin it out. Of course, you can compensate by selecting a different precision spray setting.

Except for the 6 gallon setting, the selectable amount is how much of the stuff in the bottle is injected per gallon of hose flow. GC for example recommends 1oz/gallon, so for the recommended strength I'd select precision spray setting 2 oz. (recall I mixed the soap 50/50 water)

YoSteve,

Have you tried the "flat hose"? If so, can you give your opinions on it?

Thanks,

I like the nozzle that comes with some of them.

I like the hose especially the connections. You have to release the whole thing (which isn't really a problem cause it reels right back in, in no time) It did seem to give an effect of a stronger spray but that's probably the nozzle's doing.

I like buying things with waranties and the one I got has one.

One thing you do have to make sure your hose is not twised or kinked so that the water goes through, as with any hose. When it is going through the hose is really stiff.

I don't have any complaints with the product other than they need to make it longer than 50 ft.
