so my GF got me a griots garage random orbital and this is my first try with it.

i didnt do a car, but i had a rear tail light bezel off my old car so i decided to give it a spin.

all the scratches look the same along the whole panel

here are the pics

i used Meguiars step 2 DeepCrystal system polish step 2

orange pad from griots

this was just the polish, no wax.

anyways, its just a test to get used to the orbital, i am pleased with it.

i will be doing my car and her black mercedes that has quite a few spiderwebs and swirl marks

thx for a reply.

i was just testing it out, and to be honest it did do a job, but not as good as i wanted it to.

i will be doing my GFs car, a black MB, that is pretty much swirled all over, just swirls no deep scratches.

would you suggest using a #80 or #82?

i will clay it, then 80/82, and then Z2.

is that a good combo?

im not familiar with meguaiars professional products, but i am pretty sure that your deepcrystal step 2 is just a filler and isnt actually removing the swirls.

I use pinnacle XMT for swirl removal, its very easy.

I use XMT3 with orange pad,

followed by Klasse AIO on white pad, then SG on grey, and finally pinnacle liquid souveran with blue pad

I would recommend #80 and if the swirls are fairly bad #83. These both work pretty good with the RO.

sweet, thx a lot.

ill be picking up some in a few days.

another quick Q, about the pads....is there any place to get pads locally, or do i have to order some over the net?

Try a local paint supply shop, my local one carries Meguiars Pads. Good job!
