Power Gloss - Micromarring

Does power gloss generally leave this much micromarring?



I applied with a 4" orange pad via PC. Spread at speed 2", 2-3 passes on speed 6.



Please feel free to critique my application if this level of micromarring is not normal.

It leaves that much micromarring, mostly, because it's a very aggressive compound and you're using it on a reasonably aggressive pad. So ya, I'd say that's actually pretty normal depending on how hard/soft the paint is. As much as I used to like PG, it has been totally eclipsed by Megs 105 in terms of cut:finish. You may want to pick some of that up.

Thanks Picus! I also had some dusting issues with PG too.



I'm planning on following this up with OP on a 5.5" white CCS pad, so I can work in the sun. Do you think this would effectively remove the micromarring?
 
M105 dusts pretty bad too but I have noticed almost no micromarring most of the time with it. Never used Power Gloss. Is that a newer Chrysler hood in the pics?
 
Yep, it's a Crossfire. I initially thought the clear was quite hard as it was painted in a Mercedes factory, but it's quite unusual.

Yeah, Greg Nichols is of the same opinion; it's very unusual paint. He was able to get a lot of correction using just Intensive Polish. He then was able to get Final Polish II to finish out perfectly.
 
no way. when i need a lot of cut with my PC i turn to 5.5" low profile orange on speed 6. it takes way more than 2-3 passes to properly break the polish down. really, you're not even supposed to use pg with a pc. in the first picture it looks like you're using to much polish. less polish and more work time will cut your micro marring level down. with all that said, i still have a lot of micro-marring left when im done with the PG, but it's still no where near that bad.
