Power Claying?

Has anybody used your PC to clay the car, I was doing a search on Porter Cable and came across a website where the guy uses his PC to clay the car...wondering if anyone around here has tried it, or does it normally. Does it make a big difference rather than doing it by hand?

Very, very bad idea. Claying and using a machine do not mix.

Do a search, there have been a number of threads discussing this very product.:up

I had no intentions of trying it, I know it doesn't take any pressure or vigorous rubbing to get the contaminents off the car with the clay, that's why I didn't understand why he was using a PC to use the clay.

I did a quick search for it, but didn't come up with anything...maybe I didn't word it right:nixweiss

by the time you get out the pc and get the clay to fit in place you could have done half the car by hand.

waste of money if you ask me

How is that even supposed to work? When the clay gets dirty you have to stretch, fold, and reshape it into an even flat disc instead of a lumpy hunk? :nixweiss

Exactly! What good would it do to use the same dirty side of the clay?? You would have to spend just as much time claying because you would have to dig it out of that PC attachment and fold it every 2 seconds. I don't understand the logic behind that invention. Maybe it uses special clay that doesn't work the way we think it does. :nixweiss
