Post Your Unboxing Pictures!

I hope so. I was considering the nano instead and with also but figured for the few cars I do (I would guess 6 or less) that was just too much to spend. Hell I mighty be done for the year when I get my brothers done. I might lose use of my hands for a few months if I have them operated on since they will only do one at a time, they say you need at least one to wipe your a$$ with.

Well I`m hoping to get a nano in a few months so when I come to do your front door hopefully I`ll have it

Good stuff!

And don`t you love those Fasttrack rails? I`ve got those in my garage too - great for getting everything up and off the floor. :bigups
Love the fast rack I keep collecting new parts for it. I went with it because its Rubbermaid so its available every where and I figure they wont got out business and disappear so I can keep adding pieces.

How long will it stay looking that neat??
The sockets will stay organized but over time the area around it will collect junk. I have to clean out that top area every few months as it does act as a junk draw.

I promise you will love it. Have been using it almost every night since bringing it home. Awesome tool.

Order yesterday and arrived today:

After using it for only a few minutes tonight I`m already impressed by its swirl finding abilities :)

That sounds good to me. But I can`t seem to find ant on my car with it or any other light I have tried except while under the lights when getting gas at costco. I wonder if I had gotten the scangrip if that would do better.

Just go spend a lot of time `getting gas` and detail while you`re there

Intresting. I wonder if it has more to do with the angle of the lights at Costco vs the brightness? Maybe Ask someone else to shine your 50SL at the swirl while you walk around and look at it from different angles?

I guess I shouldn`t complain too much for the fact if I can`t find them when looking most people would never see them. Last time I got gas at night I noticed a barely visible light scratch/defect across my rear deck but wasn`t looking for any. I have used the 50 at a lot of different angles at both light settings to try to find it and no joy.

when I did my polishing last spring before I coated it I had one LED work light that if I got it and my eye pretty much both level with the surface (like you would look to see if something was straight) I could see most defects but otherwise were almost impossible to find. The trunk lid and rear bumper were the only area I had to hit twice with fg400. I do know that my camera does pick up and amplifies defects more than my eyes can.
Here are a couple picture of the same area of the hood before and after I polished and to my eyes I could see no defects before I polished but the camera did.

This is why I like my metallic silver car. Swirls are pretty hard to find unless you have juuuuuust the right angle. Double edged sword for sure when trying to correct them, but I think all my future vehicles will be light and metallic.

what color is the vehicle? i find that 3500k-4500k lighting is ideal for lighter colored vehicles, along with the right amount of lumens. the new scangrip is suppose to be able to change kelvin colors along with lumens.

Have you used the Ferex before? Pondering giving that a go instead of Iron-X...

I sure have. I`ve used it a couple of times. See this thread as I did a decon wash and used both ironx and ferrex http://www.autopia.org/forums/click...upes-uhs-coated-gloss-coat-2.html#post2087120

Both work great. Ironx stay wet a little longer. Ferrex turned red more. Also doing research on ferrex it apparently does a good job removing tar. I did not get to see that as there was no tar on the cars I used it on. I like that ironx comes in a 32 oz bottle for a refill. Ferrex only comes in 16oz and 1 gallon. So it can get a bit expensive.

I will be using McKee`s iron remover sometime in the future to try it out and compare it to the others.

It`s called Quartz Gray and is like a darker silver with a blue tint at times.

Here is a picture I took a couple days ago and the S5 in my avatar is a pic of the paint that has a blueish tint to it.

Ordered some DMTs straight from Poorboys, as no longer here on Autopia.

They were nice enough to send a Pockets keychain, which my daughter immediately ripped off the box and claimed as hers. We added it to "her" keys (set of old ones she carries around in her purse bc "mommy does it").

We all know what MF towels look like, so hope y`all don`t mind just the keychain and the fascination it brought my 2-year-old. Thanks Poorboys!
