Post Your Unboxing Pictures!

Every time I see someone buy a Rupes I wonder why I don`t have one yet (I need more paint correction jobs)

To my knowledge nobody else in this exotic car filled city uses Rupes and there`s no "known detailer" for Palm Springs.

I`m hoping to go full time in a year or so. Once I get busy I will add the 21. Already have the nano

That`s the way to do it!

Just make sure before you get anything else, get a paint depth gauge (Eclometer, both non ferrous/ferrous).

Yea. That`s my next purchase. Going to talk to four people about jobs tomorrow as long as they book. I`ll be ordering one asap. I can`t wait to start making money. I`ve just been buying stuff. I tried one of the amazon PTG and it was horrible. I was thinking of that eclometer one or the delfesko I think they are the same price. You have any thoughts of one vs the other.

slow but steady wins the legitimate business impression race, lol

Nice shirts Brandt but black looks like it would be hot to work in. Maybe these are just the more mingling type shirts and not to work in? T-shirts to work in?

The best bang for the buck is the Defelsko DFT Combo (I have this). It reads both ferrous and non-ferrous. I bought mine used off eBay a long time ago an saved a few hundred, after two years it still works great. This year I`ll be upgrading to a Defelsko 200B Advanced, I finally need something that reads Carbon and other composites.

Thanks for the info. Now I`ve read the 200b doesn`t like metal substrates. So will you just keep both then. I plan on picking up the advanced one down the road. Some day I`ll make money on detailing but for now the money just goes back into it. Which I guess isn`t a bad thing.

It depends on few factors, here`s why.

You are correct the 200 does not read metal substrates. You do need a gauge like the dft combo as well. For me, I will hold on to my combo until I can switch up to the 6000 FNS1 Advanced.

The reason for the advanced models is that you can identify and read individual layers (Ie. Primer, Paint, Clear). Having that knowledge is paramount when dealing with automobiles where one panel can cost more than most used cars.

Now just need to test them out. Turn the MK2 on in the office and the backing plate didn`t spin. It oscillated but the plate didn`t rotate. Wondering if it will be different with a pad on the paint or if it needs the "washer mod"
