Post your favorite or best tire dressing!

Werkstat Satin Prot has obsoleted my Z16. Looks as good, lasts longer (about 2-3x). Can range from matte to satin depending on application.

Meguiars All Season Dressing. After trying so many different types of dressing I always find myself going back to this one.

1. Z16

2. OPT Opti-Bond

3. Wheel Wax Extreme Black - I finally decided to try this stuff over the weekend. I received it as a free item a few months ago from AG, but it's be stored away. It's water based and gives a really nice, matte look...especially if you buff it down. I don't know about durability, but I'm very pleased with the look.

Isn't there a tire gel by Armor All that is in a squeeze bottle that is White & Thick/Oily?

Easy way to tell is, move it around. Does it move like water (water based) or slow like gel(solvent based.)

I don't have a clue about armor all but to confuse everyone even more, not all water based dressing are watery.

Optibond is a gel and is water based while my megs hot shine is a spray and is watery/oily(solvent based).

I guess my next question should be: what over-the-counter tire dressings are water-based? I'm trying to find something to dress my t-top seals and engine bay hoses.

Black Magic Matte Tire Finish

Same here. Love the stuff.

I tried MB Wet dressing and didn't like it much, but it stuck to the tires like glue. I found that if I wiped it down with BMMTF, the matte looks stayed, as did the durability. That's what I use on our van that isn't detailed too often.

I don't hear much about Adam's VRT.

I like the looks of it; not glossy and makes the tires look new. I blieve it is water based.b

Z-16 by far up to this point.

The Ultima has a long life but I like the looks of Z-16 better.

I do have some Tireific a few were raving about in another tire dressing thread last year that I'll be trying pretty soon.

Optimum Opti-Bond tire gel is great diluted 1:1 for tires, engine compartments, trim, etc. You can apply it with the electronic Wagner sprayers from Lowes, Home Depot, online, etc for about $50 bucks. It will apply a nice even finish and very little to NO overspray on the car which leads to no waste of product. I still use Stoners Trim Shine in a can but rarely. I try to stick to all water based products but some are junk and last one wash and that's it. Opti-bond will last quite a while and you can get a stock looking tire or you can get a pretty glossy look depending on the dilution ratio you go with.

+1 from me. I love that stuff!

I finally got around to using the Black Magic Matte tire shine spray yesterday, and I love it. I bought two bottles of in on clearance from Wal-Mart a couple of months ago. I wish I would've bought more! I've seen it on clearance at Advance Auto Parts also.

This stuff is matte, but it does have a little shine to it. I think two coats of it on a tire is perfect. One coat is VERY matte if you like that sort of thing. I still have some Michelin Tire Shine that I've managed to make last for over two years. My wife really likes the matte look for her tires so I will be putting the Black Magic on her tires when the Michelin runs out.

I still want to try Z16 though!
