post detail final spray recommendations

The only product in this category ive used is valugard fast finish, which is fantastic...except i dont like that it separates after 6 to 8 months, which is a problem for me if i were to buy bulk.

Anyone have any other choices? It needs to be streak free, good on plastic, paint, rubber, etc...

Meguiars final touch a contender?

Optimum instant detailer and gloss enhancer is my current favorite.

I enjoy the wet effect that it leaves.

What are you wanting the spray to do?

I use ONR as a final touch up and detail spray.

This is by far my cheapest spray, but it isn't a gloss enhancer

Not a big fan of CG products, but recieved a free bottle of V7--very impressive on top of Poxy and a great drying aid--very slick and drys with no streaking even in cold temps.

To me, it depends on what quality you want.

Like Scott, I use ONRww. I am looking into

CG speed shine because it is a wax free anti static

spray. I haven't used this before, but it sounds

as if it would help dealer lots stay cleaner longer.

The problem with V7 is it messes up beading. Either there is something in it that can harm wax or it leaves a sealant layer that just beads poorly. If you don't mind that - it's a great product.

There are a lot of great QDs out there. If your looking for something that gives super tight beading, I really like Sonax BSD or Wizard's Mist & Shine. They win for beading.

If your just looking for something that doesn't mess with beading Vic's QD & Prima Slick are quite good. FK 425 is another very good one. Meg's - meh.

Haven't noticed this at all then again I'm using it as a drying aid over another sealant not a wax--seems to bead well in my case.

Seems like most are talking about performance on paint. How about trim, plastics, etc..thats what im most interested in

Sort of difficult, without knowing what features that you

want the spray to perform. Gloss, slicknesses, reflection, protection?

Maybe it dissolves wax or something similar. Dunno. I've played around with it over Collinite and it made my tight spherical beads turn to blobs. This isn't really an issue in nicer weather.

dfoxengr- Interesting about the FF separating for you, mine doesn't do that to an extent that matters and it takes me quite a while to go through the multi-gallon lots I buy.  Doesn't yours work OK after you shake it up?

I *do* really like FF on black trim, simply great stuff that gives the look I'm after for most such applications (doesn't leave a glossy enough finish on paint for me).

Anyhow...on trim you might try a W-O-W-A sealant after you do the drying; I'm experimenting with Garry Dean's Beyond Infinity Sealant with generally good results, though it leaves a much glossier finish on certain plastics than FF does.

But yeah, that does mean using one thing as a drying aid on most of the vehicle and then going back with something else on certain areas.  When I don't want to bother with that I just use FK425 or FK146 or Griot's SpeedShine on everything, but those don't leave as much stuff behind as the FF does or do I like their look/effect on trim quite as much.  They work *OK* on trim, just not as well as the FF.

The QuikShine worked fine on both trim and paint, so maybe Scottwax had the best idea, it just didn't wow me.

And yeah, certain QDs can mess with Collinite.  I once had FK425 utterly ruin 476S to the point where I had to completely strip it and reLSP the car.
