Post DACP.... Polish?

Ok, I brought out the PC the other day after looking at the hideous swirls, etc. from taking my car to the local handwash this winter.

I used DACP with the yellow pad and it made those nasty little imperfections go away, however, there was some hazing (not too bad, but noticeable at different angles) and I didnt have a chance to go over it with the polishing pad (I've always used 3M PI III Machine Glaze with white pad). My experience with this polish has been ok...it's just a major PITA to buff out. Im not sure if there is a special technique with PCs and Polish, but I've heard that this is a common problem with this polish, so im looking to try something new.

I need a good polish that will easily break down (without having to use so much elbow grease buffing out with MF towel) and easily take care of the minor hazing (from the DACP and cutting pad.). Suggestions? Thanks.

Since you went with DACP, try #80 just to be consistent with Meg's. :p

I've only used DACP with a rotary and I have no problems buffing it off. Since the PC is so much milder, maybe you need to work it longer. :nixweiss How long did you work it?

I also seen posts confirming that DACP on a cutting pad will leave micro-marring.

Speaking of consistency, why not use PI-III RC then follow with PI-III MG? Ask Accumulator. :D

Btw, the Meg's videos recommend #82 Swirl Free Polish via PC for stubborn swirls. Maybe you didn't have to go to DACP right away. Did you try using a milder polish?

You may want to stick with Megs, but just in case you want to try something different, I've heard great things about the ssr 2.5 and 1. Depending on how bad your swirls are, you might want to give them a try. If you just want to get rid of the haze, give the ssr1 a shot. As for me, I haven't used them, but I have both on the way!

i think he's having problems with the 3M MG...not the DACP!! read the post!!!!

anyway, #80 is a choice, but you take it off 'wet'. actually 3m SMR will also take care of the hazing (save the filler comments please).

Hmmm... I think you're right steck. I thought he was referring to DACP as a PITA because that's what he used initially.

The last paragraph made it clearer because he explicitly wanted a polish (to follow DACP) that wouldn't be a PITA.

Good catch! :D
