Ill second nth degree. I got te slinging mess when I played around with misting my pad with QD.

Adding a QD or water to M105 does make it trickier in this regard. Also, it can up the cut with this particular product as it kinda encourages you to keep working it. I dunno...I do it, but Kevin Brown (gee, notice how I keep referring to him?!?) thinks that it's risky... one of those "if you have to ask your probably shouldn't try it" things.

I've toyed around with wetting the pad as well as adding lube to 105 (baby oil). Its just a compound that likes to sling and dust. Perhaps its a strategy to keep the pad from getting clogged up. I've just given up and learned to live with the mess it creates. I do reach for other compounds first, 105 is a last choice.

Thanks so much for all the help guys. I have been improving. A full prime of the pad + 3 small dots has definitely reduced my dust. Before I was doing a circle or so and then hoping that spreading the product would do the "priming" for me.

I may give the HD Cut and Polish a try as well. See how my wallet feels...

I seem to get the most dust on my hood vs a flat surface (trunk lid).

Is this due to the hood being curved?

I bet you're just doing something a little differently on the hood.

I think you'll be happier with the HD products. I've never had a problem with dusting or slinging from UNO or speed. And there are no oils left behind and they're super easy to wipe off.
