I was wondering if following layering technique for carnauba wax is possible :

Megs #7

Carnauba wax

Curing

Megs #7

Carnauba wax

Curing

Megs #7

Carnauba wax

Curing

...

Could be an alternative to spit shining.

Did someone tried this ?

Or am I becoming completely nuts like my wife is thinking.

Not sure about layering, I do wash my own vehicle every 1/2 weeks with the occasional waxing... so after a while it gets layered anyway...

id say it will work somewhat , but its not like you can build 20 layers of wax on your car..you reach a point where applying more just takes off the layer underneath

from what I've read Mike Philips claims that Megs products will only layer a couple times then you simply end up removing previous product. Megs uses oils to help anchor the wax to the paint. The paint can only hold so much oil and wax.

Yeah, I can't help but wonder how stable all that #7 would be. Hmmm...

Well, uhm...yeah ;) Not that *that* is so uncommon around here :D

I'd probably stick with one application of #7, one application of #26 over top of that, then maybe one more spit-shined application of #26 for a final topper. Then just redo the last layer of #26 after every other wash or so, maybe using the spitshine approach to put on more than one layer.

I've never tried doing the multiple glaze/wax layers, but I have tried multiple applications of the pure polishes. I've always had the impression that the only Meg's pure polish that'll layer to any extent is the #5, which is different from the others in that it can really *dry*. Back in the '70s I once put at least a half-dozen layers (OK, let's say "applications" instead of "layers") of #5 on single stage red and it sure *did* look a lot better than it looked with just *one* application. Whenever I've tried that sort of thing with #7 it seems like I'm just wiping off any additional applications; only the first one seems to really do anything (dried-out ss paint can be a different story though). Maybe what you're contemplating would work with the #5 :nixweiss
