Porter Cable sander/polishers

From all the research I have done on porter cables, this is what I have come up with. I have looked at the 7335, 7336, and 7424.

According to costaltool.com:
These tools are essentially identical in that they all use the same body. The difference lies in how these tools are outfitted.

so no power or opperating differences between the 3.

as far as outfitting goes:
7335 - 5" counter weight and backing
7336 - 6" counter weight and backing
7424 - 5" counter weight and 6" backing

So shouldn't any of these work with meguiars pad kit?

Does anyone else know of any differences?

I have both a 7336 AND a 7424 and there is not a lick of a difference besides what my DC buddies have already mentioned. Most pads are a 6" or a 6.5", so using the 6" counterweight comes into play.

While the Meg's kit is "good" with the 7336 and 7424, my pad preference is the Edge. There are more texture differences and the foam itself is of better/higher quality. They are also less expensive and available at Premium Auto Care. Don't forget about your 10% DC discount!

but if i buy the $20 conversion for the 7335 then it shouldn't be any different should it?

and what pads should I get? right now i have the following products:

SSR2.5
SSR1
PP
UPP
Natty's

"6 or 1/2 dozen on which way you go. Either way it will end up about the same price when you are done."

i have no idea what you meant by that
