Porter Cable PAd question

IIRC the white foam pad is the same white foam used on Lake Country pads. (I believe LC makes the pads). The problem is the backing plate is too small and the pad is too tall to make it truly effective at polishing paint. I use mine for the shower.
 
In the shower? Actually, that does sound like a good idea. Use it as an all-purpose non-auto scrubber.
