Porter Cable Buffer

Based on the many helpful comments from other members, today I took the plunge. Purchased a PC7336 from Lowe's,$109.00 couldn't pass it up. Then I ordered from Coastal Tool the #18001 sanding backing plate,$15.00. Now I ordered the Orange and Red Foam Pads from Groit's and the Delux Foam Pad Kit with Velcro Backing Plate from CMA.

I have been able to aquire both of the most popular pad mounting systems and the Porter Cable for less then $200.00.

This couldn't have been done without the knowledge that other members shared. Many thanks to all of you.:bow

Being an avid PC user, remember to start with the LEAST agressive pad and product first and work you way up if the results are not what you are looking for.

I found it's best to increase the speed before changing to a more agressive pad or product (assuming the product has some cutting action at all).

The worse combination is a very agressive pad, a mildly agressive product and a fast speed!

Just some oberservations.

Another suggestions, for doing surfaces at lower levels, instead of bending over or working from your knees, use something to sit on. Many Autopians have seen the benefit of not constantly bending over. Your back will like it and it will really make using the PC so much more enjoyable. Anything to sit on helps but if it rolls it also benefits.
