Porter Cable And Wax Application Question....

I'd like to try applying some Carnuba wax to my Z3 with my Porter Cable since it worked so well with polish but wonder just how long do you buff an area with a random orbital machine? Should the wax still be wet, semi dry and hazy or almost powdery dry? I realize I will need to use a MF rag or another soft towel material to do the final removal and buffing of the wax but am at a loss at when to stop the machine during application of the wax....Thanks...Michael

Are you using a liquid or a paste?

First of all, I'd recommend using a paste wax such as P21S, and with this product, there is absolutely no benefit to using your PC. P21S goes on and off so easily that the PC would not make a difference.

If you are just dying to use your PC, then use it for the more difficult steps, such as polishing and glazing.

You're just applying and spreading the wax and not working it in like a polish, so just keep moving it around until it's at the desired thinness (which can probably get very thin) and don't unnecessarily dwell in one spot for very long. This assumes this is a non-cleaner wax though....
