Hey,
Hope this subject hasn't been covered in the archives a million times before, but since I couldn't find anything substantial yet... I'll take my chances and just ask, if this is indeed redundant, pleast point me to the right thread and I'll shut up:
Does anyone have a good idea on how to go about a 'portable detailing kit'? Not so much the stuff inside it, but the means to take it with you.
I'm just an enthousiast, but I do some work on cars of friends and family, aswell as my own car at my parents' house (as my own house doesn't have a driveway or garage
), so I often need to take a lot of stuff with me (and always forget one important bit, ofcourse).
Currently I'm using two plastic crates for the supplies (1 for the 'heavy work', and one for the 'QE'W), and 2 plastic shopping bags for the clean respectively dirty towels, mitts and brushes.
Needless to say the contents of the above get frequently mixed up in the 'heat of the moment', and more annoyingly the smaller bits and pieces end up on the bottom of the crates where a lot of crud mysteriously accumulates.. It also takes a lot of space in the shed and is clumsy to handle.
In short, I need a system.. There must be some detailers 'on the move' out here, what do you guys use?
Thanks in advance,
Rick
