Always has been my favorite car company...I think it always will be.





Thanks for posting these. I was a bit upset with the yellow 997T pics in all of the car mags, especially in the snow. The car deserves an elegant photo-op.

I've been trying to save up for my first Porsche. I have been working on a big software deal for a year and if that goes through I will probably pull the trigger in 2007 when my ES lease expires. I've test driven the new Cayman and love it. That's my first choice as I doubt an $80K 911 will be sanctioned by my wife...but I would be happy in the new Boxster as well. Two of my friend's have GT3s so I have some racing/touring buddies once I join the club.



What's impressive about Porsche these days is the quality of finish and reliability. The performance is just amazing but these would be great cars to detail as the paint is very high caliber. The interior fit has reached near Lexus like levels as well.



I grew up around 911s and 928s and it remains my favorite brand.

I was looking into early year 996s (99-01) for a couple weeks as my next car. I don't think the car is "for me" right now as I am starting out in a new career, out of college (people judge far too much :angry ). The prices are very very competitive for the mileage. Seldom do you see any in other than Excellent condition. They are EXTREMELY reliable, a blast to drive, turn heads, and have a nice exotic factor to them. I was hard-pressed to turn away, but someday, without a question, I will own one.

I would look into a CPO'd one. If it has RMS (Rear Main Seal) problem history, I would stay away. In all honesty, that is about the only consistent problem I've found with them. People drive them daily all the time. Some reccomend finding one (99-01) with more than 40k miles. Since it is driven more often, the theory is, there would be less problems than one that sits for xx months out of the year.

I used to work for a company that gave away a MiniCooper each quarter to the top salesman if the company hit their number. Not leased, GAVE. Another company gave a lease away every year for a Porsche, my last year there it was a Boxster, but it was a 911 the year before. I also talked to a buddy whose company gave the #1 sales guy, if he was over 200% of quota, a 911 on a 2 year lease, as well as a briefcase full of cash on the front seat.



Isn't the software business a hoot!
 
If I could swing it, I would go for the $80k 911 over the Caymen. The Cayman is a sweet car no doubt, but everyone I've seen so far has stickered over $70k, you can easily load them up well beyond that number as well.

Yes, but it can be slooooooooow. :) We are trying to set up a new information standard so there are 4 key parties involved so things move "at the speed of business" if you know what I mean...:D
 
In the first two pics, I don't like the wheels.
