Porsche Pics

Basically what I've done to the paint since I got the car was I started off using Maguiar's Mirror Glaze Polish #7 then I waxed it with their Hi Tech wax #26. This looked better but there were some swirlmarks that I wanted to get rid of and that's about the time I found this site.

I did the whole car with 3M SMR twice and I also used some Finesse It II on a couple of smaller areas. After the SMR I've been applying multiple coats of 3M Show Car Paste Wax. I've also been QDing with Maguiar's Final Inspection and their consumer labeled Quik Detailer. I also found out about Stoner Invisible Glass on this site and that has been a proven winner as well.

Thanks for all of the good info that lead me to such a clean car! :bounce

Nice work, Short Cut!

As one Black Porsche owner to another, I share your obsession! (Oh you didn't know you were obsessed? Give it a little time.... ;) )

Where in the Bay Area are you? I'm in San Mateo. If you're close, perhaps we can detail together sometime and swap stories....

Yesterday we got a bunch'o' Turbo's together for a drive. Below is my favorite photo from the bunch. My car in the foreground. That's 2075 HP you're looking at......

Nice layout, nice framing, who was holding the shotgun to keep the birds away?

Yes I'd say obsession is an accurate description of my feelings about this car. It's just like falling in love all over again, just don't tell my wife that ;)

I live in Pleasanton in a 3 car garage with a house attached to it. You're welcome to come on by anytime to hang out and detail. :up

I've got a clean 1964 BMW R69S motorcycle in the garage with 8900 original miles on it. Now that I'm gettin' the hang of posting digital photos I'll take one to post here in the near future.

What year/model is that Porsche, I absolutely love it! Awesome pics, I especially like the wheels and the red calipers....

Carguy, once again your photos are always incredible!

:up

Thanks Dean, it is a 1994 which is cool to me for a couple of reasons. It is the last year that had the traditional 911 front end with the low hood and high headlight humps and the vertical headlight lenses. That is the body style that has imprinted on my brain of what a Porsche is supposed to look like. It also was the last year that Porsche sold a two wheel drive turbo. I searched for this model for over a year and invariably when I would find them for sale they were on the other side of the country or had too many performance "upgrades". I finally found this one about 45 minutes from my house and it is completely stock with only 27k miles on it.

Short Cut,

Nice Porsche. The 964 body is my favorite. Any idea how many 964 turbos were imported to the states? I bet the number is real low.

Kenneth

Thanks Kenneth, the new Porsche's are awesome performers but I really love the looks of the 964 body. I could find some stats on the car in my 911 book but it is at home. I'm not sure if the book breaks the total number of production cars down to US cars though.

This is the best book that I've found about 911's so far:

Kenneth I checked the book that I mentioned above and it says the 5,323 Porsche 964 3.6 Turbos were manufactured however it doesn't break down the number to show US imports.

Too bad because I would like to know. If anyone knows this please pass it along. thanks

hey short cut, keep em' coming. awesome car, awesome pics. one of my daily rituals is to go on e-bay and look at all of the 911s on auction. i just never get tired of looking at porches.
