Porsche 911 in new year

Just curious what sealants you would recommend for a fully restored resprayed two pack jet black late 70's porsche 911

Was thinking of klasse but then remembered how hard it is to remove most of the time

I have wolfgang dgps, dura glaze, four star upp, poorboys exp which will be going on it's glass inside and out, omikron bodyseal (polymer) and a couple others

Once it's all done, what shampoo should the guy use to clean it safely and not strip the sealants which all I have tryed do bit by bit every wash (including pinnacle)and make the paint rough again

I never had a problem with taking off Klasse products. I will also use a QD that can help to take off the stubborn areas, and I also use a quality QD after I finish to enhance the shine and to help with the dust. Also remember to use a thin coat.:bounce :xyxthumbs

KLASSE!

One of my favorite customers has a black Porsche 966. Been in some shows. Anyways. I used Klasse and P21S. I used Sonus Detailing Clay, Paint Cleaner and 1Z Metallic Polish. This spring I will be using Sonus SFX-3 Polish. Then I go to the king of dark, multi, metallic paint. KLASSE. It gives great depth, shine.

Klasse is only hard to remove if you use to much. On light color cars you can barely or don't see it at all going on. Use only a dime size of AIO and SG on a foam or Sonus applicator. My thing is appplying the SG and leaving it on for 24 hrs. No lie. It will allow the SG to cure and you get the best coating, flattest and best multi-coating possibilities. I use a concours buffing towel to remove the SG. I don't use a PC. Use a MF to remove AIO. Apply a second coat of SG. Just wait a day after removing first coat. Have to apply P21S 100% Carnuba Wax.

Post some pics.

PM me if want details.

I highly suggest Klasse. It gives you 6 months of protection and shine. A must for new cars and paints.

Klasse works great on all types of paints. SOnus polishes work great on soft european clear coats.

Thanks mate, My place is very dusty during summer (which is now) due to gravel driveway so I'll get it in one of our garage's and do it

How much klasse should I put on an ultra microfibre applicator pad for each panel - hood, roof, doors etc.

Will try the 24 hrs method as well.

Yeah I must be using too much and no AIO either, haven't got much of that and been using other sealants as base coat

I thought you couldn't qd a just klassed panel.

Anyway thanks for advice, has helped big time

You can use Sonus Acrylic Spritz. By spraying it on the mf applicator when applying the SG. I spray 4 times for the whole car. It's great for wiping your car down between washes. By customers and friends all use it at the car show if they drive there cars there.

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-200.html

AIO is great also because of it's cleaning and protection, because it has acrylic bond to the paint.

Put a dime size on the applicator. They can do the hood and the front bumper (put on glass headlights). Then try the fenders if you see some is still applying then do the fender. Sometimes it will sometimes it won't. Then apply another dime size to do all the doors and you might be able to do all the roof, might run out. Then another dime size to do the trunk, back bumper and trim. The trick with SG is don't use much because it dries better and it's a pain in the azz like you find out to remove. You'll see a light haze on the car on the hood when you start working the fenders. It's the best sealent in the biz. My Uncle's been using it on his 5 camaros for years. He taught me and taught me well. It's the best on dark colors especially black. Like yours.

I love using Concours Buffing Towel to remove the SG. It does such a better job then a MF on a PC. AIO is great on glass also and plastics. I put it on my screen protector of my HD TV. Use the lightest polish you got on that new paint. You shouldn't need anything with cutting cabablity.

PM if stuck.

Two Questions

-Can I get Klasse at retail store? I am guessing not, but worth a try.

-Is Klasse AIO and SG followed with the P21S stuff safe for Torch Red Ford clearcoats?

I know it might be a bit off topic, but you were talking about Klasse anyway.

-O, I also apply all products by hand (I know, I'm crazy). Will these products work being applied by hand?

That's fine. I suggest applying AIO by hand and removing SG by hand. Just use MF.

No you can't get Klasse at a retail store. Put in SONUS for the coupon code when buying form Autopia and get 15% off Klasse and SOnus products and I think they are having a promotion right now.

I seen P21S at a dealership and it was $80!

Klasse is safe on all clear coats and carnuba of course. Nice dark red? Like a candy red? Man that will nice with Klasse and P21S. You will be very happy. Klasse is non abrasive, so you don't have to worry. Plus your being safe by puting it on by hand.

Post some pics!!

I have a Torch Red 2005 mustang gt. It looks really great when cleaned up, but I have never done anything except wash then NXT. So I was thinking of just washing it, then putting AIO followed up in about 20 minutes with SG. Then wait about 30 minutes and top with some S100 (I can get that at Harley stores I think).

Would that work well (The combonation, and time period in between?)

S100 is a 100%Carnuba with out cleaners?? Never use waxes with cleaners with SG. it will remove or damage the protection. Cleaners strip waxes, so if you put NXT on and do another coat. ALl it does is strip the previous NXT.. That's what I love about SG, you can coat with Carnubas.

That's fine. If you can't wait 24 hrs. I understand. Your still going to get killer results on that red. IF you can wait an hour after the SG. ALways and a must to wait 24 hrs between carnubas.

I looked up that P100S. Same as P21S, wonder whats the difference. Iuse P21s bikes all the time and works great.

I suggest If you CAN.

AIO then wait 20 mins.

SG and leave on for 24 hrs.

Next day buff off P21S then apply P21S

Remember just use a dime size of the AIO and a nickel size of the SG on the applicator.

MUST post pics!

Or use even a *lot* less SG. I do our minivan with far less than an ounce (maybe half an ounce). Maybe you had the dime/nickel backwards ;)

I always put the SG on so thin I can't see it; I go by feel- the areas you cover with SG will feel different from the untreated areas.

Badandy- Oughta wait a day between the SG and the wax, or do the wax after the next wash. But I'd get several coats of SG on there before topping it.

Actually both dime size. I was telling him the whole time dime and I wrote nickel sorry.

I don't even see the SG or AIO on my Metallic Melange (tan) Audi. When it dries you can tell. On the Red you will tell.

That's what I was telling him earlier to wait a day between SG and waxes so it can totally dry. I've notice a big difference on the 2 coat, but love a 3rd coat. It's a 5 day process but worth it. The between days if I drive it I wash it with Sonus. Sonus Car Shampoo is unbelivable!

Read above and you'll see I stated all what you said above. Some people don't have 5 days. I at least tell them to allow the SG to sit for the evening. Morning apply and before dark remove, then in the morning apply another coat and before dark remove. Depending on the teperature depends on the curing. If it's humid at least 24 hrs. dry heat 18hrs from what I was told, but I always wait 24. The classic cars it takes 6 days.

OK, I see about the nickel/dime thing, hope I didn't sound all :nono or anything... and I sure didn't mean to step on any toes by reiterating anything you posted, I just meant to posit it a little differently and reinforce what you said in the hope that Badandy would see that it really is a good way to go. Sometimes I'd rather be redundant than not, even if I am wasting bandwidth :o

NO no I understand. I never think anybody is sounding pushy. I don't think anybody here is like that. I know you just where correcting me and I appreciate it, reall I do. I always think people are just being nice and helpful

Where are youfrom in NE Ohio? I'm from Ashtabula. Looking to get some people in Ohio to get together for fun. Maybe have a dinner or met at somebodies business.

audipower- Cool, I wasn't sure if I'd come across wrong.

I'm a long way from Ashtabula (saying I'm from "NE Ohio" covers a bit of ground, huh?), but I keep hoping some of us Ohio Autopians *will* get together, there seem to be a few of us posting here all the time. I just never seem to have time when the idea comes up....I don't even end up seeing my closest friends for months at a time, so I think I need to start working on how I allocate my time. Might make for a good New Year's resolution :D

Accumulator- I understand that. I know I see all these postings but I don't know if you guys own a business or what everbody does. I wish Autopia would have a forum so detailing business part time and full time could post there website, business name and location. Ya know. I would love to check out some of there places. I have family all over the country always asking me for a reference to a detailer.

Sorry of the subject.

NOTE: Sorry about sorta thread-jacking :o

FWIW, I'm not a pro, just a rather serious hobbyist. But comparing my work with that of the pros in my area (at least the ones whose work I've seen), well, I sorta avoid calling myself an "amateur" ;)

Back on-topic, when it comes to LSPs for black (I drove only black cars for years), personal preference will really matter. A black vehicle done with Zaino will look completely different from one done with Souveran. You really have to try different stuff and see what look is right for *you*. Nobody's right/wrong, but these are *not* subtle differences.
