I would like to show my lastest detail (exterior only). The victim was a 2002 Porsche 911 (996). The car had medium swirls and had some holograms on the hood.
After washing and light clay, here you have it:
My approach to the painted surfaces were to use Menzerna IP by orbital (DW443) with orange cut pad. Most areas were ready with two passes, some took three.
Here you can see the before and after:
I had a setback as the front area (hood included) was repainted some time ago. The clear was a bit hard and thus it was resisting my combo. It was solved with 3M PerfectIt III Fine Compund via rotary, as this cutted faster than IP (it was the next most abrasive stuff I was carrying). The rear fender took the same treatment because it was in lesser shape than the rest of the car.
To finish the polishing chapter I've chosen Menzerna FF by rotary with a finishing pad. The painted surfaces were protected with Natty''s Blue by hand.
Outside window areas were cleaned with Autoglym GlassPolish and sealed with Grojet2000. The inside window areas were cleaned with 1Z window cleaner.
Exterior rubber and trim already had been clean with 1Z Balsam by the owner.
Door moldings were polished with 1Z PP by hand and sealed with Grojet2000.
The 18'' rimms were polished with 1Z PP with a powerball and sealed with PWS.
