Porsche 911 4S thrashed by starbucks, sand blasted Head Lamp

Thought I’d share some info I got from CMA regarding Blackfire. I recently did a full detail. What I did was wash, clay, SR #9 2.0, wash, Blackfire Polish, Blackfire Paint Protectant. I was worried about the Blackfire bonding after I used the #9 2.0 even though it looked awesome so I washed it again before going to BF polish.

I emailed them asking about proper prep and they said that they had been experimenting with different Meguiar’s and 3M polishes and did not experience any difference in bonding or durability. Also they said I could skip to the Blackfire Paint Protectant at any point the paint looks good, you don’t have to use Blackfire polish, just like Klasse Sealant Glaze.

My paint didn’t look any better or worse from using BF polish after the #9 2.0 so I probably could have skipped one or the other. Anyways, that’s it just though I’d share what I found and maybe save somebody a few bucks and/or some time.

for SJ. You may save me a call to CMA, because I've been wondering about the same question you asked.

I wasn't sure from your post... did CMA say you should wash after Meguiars/3M or can you go straight to the BF?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry that wasn't clear. According to Terry and Jan @ CMA they haven’t experienced any bonding issues with various 3M or Meguiar’s polishes and you can skip the wash and go right to either Blackfire product.

I've experienced the same with other non-cleaner polymer sealants. I've gone from using PPCL directly to Zaino polish without any (apparent) bonding problems. But who knows.. maybe the sealant will last 5 months instead of 6 months, but that wouldn't pose a problem for me.

it was a great challenge to bring back this ride to pristine, so much so mentally is always at the test, pushes to every limit
both physical & emotional is stressed out + cracking is just a thin line in between, struggles with hungry & fatigue

Nothing is more challenging than the inner man fight - putting behind literary everything & just to get this job done,
I had every reason to stay home and be with my family!!! Many thanks to my wonderful beloved wife for her understanding & supports
Thank you for 4 little cards both my daughters make for me today - the most wonderful father day i ever had- You are my constant inspirations
I loves you

Went off at past midnight, had my dinner at 1.30 am & slept very little again - (only 2 nights ago) did the Eclass

You are putting out some very well executed details with only a few products. I too love Power Clean! Have two gallons and I'm about to order another one. I have some questions for you though.

1. What dilution of power clean do you generally use??
2. Do you have a leather brush, or only that Raceglaze brush? If so would you like a leather brush?
3. What type of steamer are you using? It seems to really help your use of Power Clean.
4. What product was used on the headlights to help cut oxidization?

Thanks Mrgolfriderfor yr kind words,

less is more - yes life has been prettier simplier when i switch over knowing OPT, I use to take 20 kind of different stuff out ..back then with megs

Now i only carry 5 item to each detail, ONR, OPC, OOS OCWax, OOS

as for paint work & Exterior paint leveling OHP & OHC (with OPT double sided wool & foam pad)

OPC - i carry 3 dilutions out , reason it will be too wasteful to usee it neat....eg

1:8 OPC/water for exterior paint work or leathers

1:5 OPC/Water for hard stains on leathers / interior to remove dressing / door jams area / emblems / rims

1:3 scuff on vinyl stains by shoe scuffed / engine ares - hood - exhaust tip / degrease / to remove stickers

1:1 too wasting

as it is the far best cleaners I ever use

brushes as shown - a simple wheel brushes - the key to OPC is agitation & repeat5 till it done

lastly - head lamp correction - firstly tried on Megs 105, on rotary & but when my 2.5" backing plate disintegrated
I left with no choice but try OHC & plastic X

Vapor Chief Steam Cleaner - i wish it is found here but I am only hv a german made ...great combination for OPC as well
