Poorboy's World Detailing Weekend

JRdetailerwoman and I are going up on Saturday I think, probably late since we're just hanging out and not working on a car--planning on going to the Chinese smorgasborg.

My old lady and I are probably going to swing through on Sunday, same as Setec not to work just to hang out.

Anything else worth visiting in the area?

Only thing I can think of is palisades mall

That is a cool place!

Palisades Center

They have a movie theater plus an IMAX, an indoor carousel and ferris wheel, an ice skating rink (if they still have that...maybe that was replaced with some sort of cart track), and just about every store and restaurant you can think of. Make sure you keep track of where you parked or you may never find your way back.

Ha, I took some pics to post but couldn't get them to work, I guess the management has turned off the code for this thread. They are in my gallery, if that doesn't get censored too. Beercan was there, Holland Patrick wasn't. If I'm not mistaken, most of the people were from DC so I didn't really know them.

Just about a perfect day, not too hot, mostly overcast, a few sprinkles. One extreme makeover by a first-timer, beercan had her running his rotary! Dinner at the Chinese buffet, Poorboy Steve provided some industry (and forum member) insight, as usual. Apparently a number of people cancelled today and said they would be there Sunday, so that will be the day if you want to meet and greet, but I'm done for this one.

Yeah, I missed out today due to the weather channel predicting rain in the afternoon. Ill be getting up in a few hours to wash and clay then heading over in the morning. Look for me! I need all the advice I can get

what car did you come in? i was the silver mercedes. man it was hot today, but everyone was so helpful. too bad its only once a year

Silver C Class? It looked great when I was there in mid afternoon. I didn't come to work so I didn't bring the car in to detail. Yourself and a few other people seemed really in their zone, trying to get their cars done while the sun was still high and I didn't want to stop their flow.

Anyone that is hesitant to undertake any facet of detailing on your own, go to this meet the next time it happens. I can't stress the amount of hands on experience people were getting, product suggestion, multiple techniques and solutions from plenty of people who attended. The whole crew at Poorboys was very accommodating.

Seemed like everyone I asked wasn't from Autopia, but from other sites.

No, Setec and I had sunscreen on, and we stayed in the shade for the most part.

Steve told us all to bring sunscreen but I decided that made too much sense.
