Poorboy's Window Treatment

The Whaler Loves Detail City
Last week when I put my 5th coat of Natty's on my car I also did a Poorboy's Exclusive on my windows. I washed the windows with SuperSuds and dried with a gray waffleweave. Next I applied ProPolish with a foam applicator. Spreading the product until it started to haze and or dust. I removed the polish with a Poorboy's blue micro. the polish came right off leaving VERY clean windows. EX-P(EX-P+) was put on immeditely afterwards. The sealant too was put on by way of the famous foam yellow applicator. An hour after the sealant was put on I wiped it off with another blue micro. Spray and Gloss followed the removal of EX-P(EX-P+) using an arctic white micro. Not only was the towel clean but the windows really sparkled. It set the car off. The reflection off the glass matched the brilliance of the car's shine.
Next test was rain. It took a few days but I finally got to see how the rain splattering on the windows reacted with Poorboy's. Well the result was satsfactory. The rain hit the windows and the wind just whisked it right off the glass.I never had to turn on my wipers. Before I tried these prods. I was a Invisible Glass and Rain X man. Not only do my windows look better with Poorboy's on them, the prods. also repel the rain as well if not better than my previous method.
I will in the near future do an Invisible Glass RainX vs Poorboy's ProPolish,EX-P, Spray and Gloss.

Interesting combo,
I wonder how long it will hold up once you start using the wipers, and what type of effect it will have on them

Did all my glass before a 3400 mile two week trip to Florida with EX-p (the old stuff) and went through some torrential storms with the glass staying clean and the droplets just flying off. Great stuff and you can stay clean with S&G as your regular cleaner. Good Stuff. I think it worked much better than Rain-X. Using S & G, I never reverted to any of the other products I usually carry for long road trips (Stoner's IG).

rabbi, A very thorough job, no doubt. However, with a lot fewer steps and a lot less time, I get similar results by just cleaning my windshield using a variety of glass cleaners including PB's S&W. This is not a new windshield by any means. It is headed toward it's 10th year and 150K miles.

We just returned from a 600 mile round trip and went through several showers. Most were encountered without the need for wiper action.

That doesn't surprise me. I love how the natty's EX combo does on paint, but I have not tried it on my windows. I too am a Rain-X man, but I will have to give this a try now as well. I'd like to find out if the wipers will pick up any wax and smear the water down the road. It's nothing that some rubbing alcohol shouldnt be able to fix, but, a good test anyway. Great tip!

Mike
