Poorboys Wheel Sealant Review

PwS is for paint and Wheel Sealant is for Wheels...how would these two become comparable? Wheel Sealant because of its carrier solvents may also do some slight cleaning, but has no specific cleaning properties.
Maybe a mix up of acronyms and products.
PwS = Polish with Sealant, not Poorboy's Wheel Sealant.

Good point Charles, I never thought that they may have the same abbreviations;)

FWIW, my version is more "whipped" paste and less liquid, yet not a "solid". My container is white, where your container appears to be clear showing the pink contents.

This is a good assessment of it's texture:yes:

..we have been alternating between white and clear containers, but we are trying to get only the clear ones. The problem is with the supplier who seems to run out often, and our factory has limited space for storing extra boxes of jars, so we usually order them when we are ready to produce a new batch. :)

I'm also a big fan of the PB Wheel Sealant. A great performing product that is also easy to use. Highly recommended. :)

I enjoy this product, though I'm not a fan of softed pastes usually. I worked out, it seems to cost a little under $1 per application on my SUV, though I might be underestimating how much is left in the can. 15-20 apps per jar I'd guess. Means I can upsell it for $10-$15 and be ahead of the game.
I'd love to see it in an aeresol spray, even if it meant half the coverage.

Sorry for the acronym mix up I'm taking about the Wheel Sealant

That is what I figured the cleaning was from considering it only turns black when worked in... :bigups

^^ +1 I put ceramic pads on my Acura and never had brake dust problems. That is the next upgrade on the Legacy too. Hopefully that eliminates the brake dust issues with this car.

Update 1-29-06

It's been 2 months with just the initial 3 coats of Wheel Sealant and after cleaning them today I noticed some slight oxidization, spots and marring.

2 months of protection in the winter rain and dirt, doing nothing more then washing them, is more then I could hope for...great sealant for uncoated wheels :bigups

It's hard to get a shot of the oxidization because it's very slight but here is a before and after showing the marring and oxidization:

Great review of a great product. I have two points to add.

1) The first container of wheel sealant I received came in the summer. It was a thick liquid. It went on somewhat too thick seeing as it was a liquid. However, I got some more this past December in that great giveaway thing and noticed it was more like a paste wax. I went out and looked at my old container and what do you know...it had solidified more. Apparently this stuff will "melt" somewhat.

2) Per our local expert detailer, I have started putting down a base coat of a something like Klasse AIO prior to the wheel sealant. It seems to give slightly better results.

I cannot say enough good stuff about wheel sealant. If you have not tried it - try it and you will be hooked!

Same with mine. Mines very liquidy. I may oder a new one come spring time. As for it now doing any cleaning, I had some tar depostis on the inside of my rims. I would dab a lil on each spot, let sit for a few minutes then start to work it in. Took a lil more and after a few minutes of working it, the tar deposits were gone. Was a life saver, didn't think they'de come off. Now if it only removed curb rash.
