I'm looking for a lil stronger polish

i'm using meguiars #82 swirl free polish right now

Which one would u guys recommend between

Poorboys SSR2.5 ,Meguiars #83 dual action ,Menzerna IP ??

Which one give better result of course but which one is easier to use to ? like what is each one problem ? i hear the PB SSR2.5 dust alot how about the others?

Menzerna IP + Orange pad give you great results. Almost avoids using Menzerna FF or other low-cut polish. (not for dark cars) :)

Yellow is really not needed. But then again it all depends on what need fixed. I just bought a yellow pad just IN CASE.

I did a wet sanding job today of some MAJOR orange peel.

I sanded with 2000grit and then applied Power Gloss with an Orange pad on speed 6 and one pass took them all. I then followed up with Final Polish II and JW Prime. Amazing results!:cooleek:

Menz. IP dusts a little bit. People around here like to mix Clearkote Red Moose Machine Glaze to give the paint more wetness and cut down on the dust from IP. 70/30 ratio. 70% IP and 30% RMG.

I didn't undestand members saying "Menzerna is great" but I purchased the entire line up and I can understand why Menzerna has such a great reputation.

My vote would be for Menzerna, really good stuff.

No hype machine there.;) Menzerna's polishes are my goto products.

Guys, I'm about to detail my Jet Black 07 335i and I currently have Poorboys SSRs that I used on my Blue M3. Would I be able to use them on my Jet Black car with good results? The steps I went through on the 95 M3 was SSR2.5 with Orange Pad, then SSR1 with White Pad. Topped that with Poorboys EX, and some Dodo Juice.

The car is practically new, it just has a lot of swirls on it from the previous owner. Trying to think of the best way to go about this. I'm using a UDM, and CCS pads.

Kinda hard to recommend the right polish or compound with out knowing what condition the paint is in and what you are trying to do. I have a lot of experience with SSR polishes and some of the Menzerna line. They both dust but SSR's dust a lot more. Menzerna polishes cut better and finish better than anything I have ever used.

go for m105 ultraa cut compound followed by tech wax, or you could try turtle wax heavy duty rubbing compound and remove the damage that does or meguiars number 9 then megs number 7 or megs 80 followed by megs 83

I'd probably choose SIP over IP. SIP is a better polish than IP (Faster/better correcting), however the IP will be easier to deal with on VERY soft paint.

I've got the entire Menz line, with the exception of Power Gloss and I love it. It is very hard to find three better overall polishes than SIP, 106 and 85RD.

I'm going to have to disagree with some of what you said. Even though 105 can finish down rather nicely, I would MOST DEFINITELY follow up 105 with at least a secondary step before waxing. 105 is pretty harsh, so you're going to have to clean that up with at least 83 or 80.

Also, if using the 83/80 combo you referred to, I'd hit it with 83 first and then follow up with 80.

Just my dos pesos.

The Hulk has the correct process!

You will love Power Finish! I used it on my brand BMW's decklid and hood to remove some very fine swirls. All I used was a white pad with a PC for the hood. I used a grey pad on the decklid, both with great results.

Thanks, Zax.

I'll be picking up some PF soon...Probably in the next couple of months. I'm still well stocked on polishes, but it's something I definitely want to try. I appreciate the input.

I might actually try my SSR on the jet black BMW if you guys really don't see a "downside." It seems that both SSR and Mezerna products have some following (Merzerna moreso) but since I already have all the different levels I will start with them. If anyone thinks that SSRs will have an adverse effect on jet black BMW paint speak now or forever hold your piece.. :)

I know that Poorboys dusts a ton, but I'm okay with that. I'll learn from this experience and just buy some Merzerna when I run out.
