i just ordered the portercable kit with the pads and such from proper auto care, and just received my ssr 2.5, ssr 1, ex, and nattys and was wondering what pads should be used with what products and not with others and so on.

depending on how agressive u wanan be. always start off witht he least aggressive approach. im not familar with the pc kit but this is with the general idea of pad aggressiveness.

light cleaning/swirl removal= ssr1-polishind pad, ssr1-light cutting pad

light/medium clenaing/swirls removal= ssr2.5-polishing pad, ssr1-light cutting pad

medium cleaning/swirl removal= ssr2.5-light cutitng pad/ ssr2.5 cutting pad

polishing/paint clenaing=ssr1-polishing pad

sealant/wax=ex-hand/finishign pad, nattys-hand
 
Pretty much what joy said. If you use the SSR2.5 with a cutting pad, you're gonna need to follow it up with something to remove "hazing." I have found SSR2.5 with a polish pad on speed 6 will do quite a bit of work.
