Poorboys EX-P...Not impressed

Let me check to see if I have more than 3 brain cells, LOL.

This is still one of the more postive forums I go to. I've seen some nasty spats in a home theater forum even...

This thread seems to consist of a lot of two wrongs must make me right...

I understood the original intent of the thread and it was fine...some of the responses that followed were the issue. Let's face it, we've all tried things we had high hopes for and it didn't come out the way we hoped...it happened to me with SG...I'm sure it was my application, but it didn't meet my expecations.

I think we need to continue to have open dialog on issues and that's why I come here (and to DC). I have gotten so many tips and learned so much about how to do things smarter & better. If I hate the way a product looks, I really appreciate people being willing to help out...maybe you hated SG at first and then found that your applicator was too wet...sharing knowledge helps us all.

I'm not refuting the fact that product discussion and comparison is good. I'm saying that when people go off on a tangent and flame others because they don't like XYZ product is damn silly.

I like Zaino, I don't think anyone considers me a Zaino Zealot though, I'm open minded and don't push the product on others or flame them for not liking Zaino (unless they're blatantly trolling).

Hi all, (tyring to get this post back on track) this is my truck. I used VM (applied by PC, speed 5.5) and topped with ex-p(applied and removed by hand.. IMO, this combo give a really wet and slick look. Thinking about topping it with P21s or Natty's tomorow, does anyone think that topping the ex-p would make it look better?

I have heard that topping with Nattys is a very good idea in that it adds much more wetness. I have some of it as well but I want to get another coat or two of SG on before topping because I dont want to dink with any more detailing on my car until around halloween other than adding Nattys every two weeks. I think that EX-P is better on dark colors. I am going to try it this wekeend on a Dark Blue trailblazer. Will try to remember to take pics. The folks at DC love the EXP Nattys combo.

I topped EX-P with Natty's,but just on the hood.My wife's Highlander is a dark blue metallic and I really(as in me and maybe not you) couldn't see a whole lot of difference.:nixweiss

here ya go :bounce ssr 2.5, PwC, followed by EX-P. i don't know if it POPS or not. just think it looks cool. enjoy.

oh yeah detailgirl, PM me the joke please!!

WOW !! I stumbled onto the wrong post ....

But yes I found EX-P to be sterile and not very wet-looking also. I have used it three times and each time kick myself for not going back to Klasse Twins or Wolfgang. It is very thick and thus hard to put on thin like a sealant, it provides more dust than any other sealant Ive used .... however it does look alot better after a good washing and QD (Sonus, Crystal Mist, Z6 ) and the protection seems to be better than most. Kinda a mixed bag ...

I'll trade anyone for some FMJ .... I'll pay shipping both ways !

Most users find EX-P to be easy on, easy off. Suggest you dampen the applicator with a little QD before applying it. A little goes a long way. I haven't noted any dusting when put on thin.

Swapping products you don't care for with others who have one you do like or want to try -

all it would cost us is cross shipping (me ship to you - you ship to me).

I probably could come up with a list of 10-12 products I would be willing to trade for others (not that I don't like them - I just have too much dang stuff!! :lol).

What do you have?

:lol

off the top of my head

UPP

Ex

Duragloss

FMJ

VM

CMW

AIO

Wolfgangs

SSR2

SSR1

Pro Polish

heh - I'd have to get a list together - be willing to trade most depending on what others had

DetailGirl-you may like the regular EX w/carnauba more. It isn't any more wet looking to me than EX-P but it does have more depth.

The clear wet look of EX-P (IMO) just may not appeal to some as much as it does to others. :nixweiss

I'm interested in the FMJ! Do you have any other Menzerna goods?

I have the kit - Final Polish II, Glaze, Car Wash and FMJ

I'd have to sit down and pull a list together first ;)

Not to be pushy, but it's been like 15 minutes. Are you done yet? ;)

This thread has been hijacked again, LOL...this time in a positive way.

I've got 2/3-3/4 of a bottle of NXT Tech Wax & some Tech Protectant if anyone wants to trade for that...I'd love to trade for some EX to try on a friends red Solara this weekend.

I've got a bottle of SG with maybe 1 ounce missing I may be willing to give up for something....with EX-P in my arsenal I may not use the SG again....maybe I should just post something and see what offers come my way.

I have almost a full bottle of NXT tech wax and their spray wax I would be willing to trade!

I've used #16 and S-100 on EX-P, white. I cannot honestly say it makes it better, but I imagine it gives the EX-P some added protection, I like using QD+ and so far I'm happy with the results.

-----------

PS. I hope the "old gang" does not "resent" the new people here. That isn't the case, is it? If there ARE some "invisible rules" understood only by the "old gang" in order to be welcomed...then I'm not sure I'm comfortable posting here anymore.

How did you apply your QD+? Did you spray it on and wipe it off or did you let it haze first? My thought behind letting it haze wouldnt that be the same as applying nattys? Just a thought.

Also, do you think that when you use the spray and wipe that it would remove the qd+?
