Poorboys EX-P...Not impressed

No, the run on sentence guy. Yours was a straightforward "I don't like it", and your next post explained what you didn't like, and then made it easier to put into context by explaining what you do like.

Tom

I too think EX-P is rather slick feeling when you first apply it. I've also noticed, similar to other postings in other threads, that it doesn't feel quite as slick after the first washing. It still looks the same, just doesn't feel as slick as pig's snot like it does when first applied.

I think it does leave a nice wet look, even after that first washing. From my recollection of how Zaino looked on my car, I think I like the EX-P a little more. Again, just from my recollection since I ran out of Zaino (which is why I tried EX-P in the first place, I needed something new) and couldn't directly compare them.

Zaino and EX-P are really the only boutique products I've used. Well, S100 too, but I've never used it by itself, just over Zaino and EX-P. Don't have the experience (or $$) to have lots of other products to compare to.

I like the fact that I can WOWO EX-P, and I can also let it cure if I feel like it. Never did like the mandatory waiting period for Zaino. That kept me from using it more often.

UPP's "home" is PAC.. I bet there's quite a bit on it at DC but I've seen it mentioned here too.

P.S. I thought the joke was kinda funny. Found the banning rather absurd, after I figured out what happened -- I think your last posts were about Autogeek and at first thought they went after you for that.

Its ok, I appreciate the support. I thought that ban was rather out of line as well, a warning would have been sufficent. Typically when I apply anytime of product within 24 hours I expect to see some sort of "result" I simply did not get that here. You could certainly tell that something was applied but as previously stated it did not have any sort of pop, and the metallic finish of my paint was muted.

I admit I was peeved about the order from Autogeek but eventually they made the wrongs right. I wish everyone shipped and had customer service like Top of the line and CMA. Amazing to deal with.

Sorry my brain has been on empty as of late because of my work situation. You know how it is when you cannot get something to leave your consciousness and then it festers not allowing you to convey what you feel in other aspects?

Well that’s me right now.

One day I went to Wal-mart to get some dog food, When I was there I saw a friend getting a watch. She is in the army now. I haven’t been to the mall in a few days. Did you see the cat run down the street? He went to the war, now he is back. The sun was nice and warm today.

DetailGirl that to bad that you got banned. A lil to excessive but you still have this community. If you try out UPP you can be sure that PAC will give you great help. I've heard Dwayne will reship something if is unsatisfactory right away.

UPP x3 on my Silver BMW looks great! But I think its starting to die out due to incorrect curing time. The gloss is great and reflectivity good too. I like how I drive and the rain beads fall out easily. :D

What kind of dog food, dry or wet?

...I also forgot to mention that I love a product that leaves the surface slick and silky feeling. This did not. ....

Not slick and silky?

How strange.

Darnit! I saw that BillNorth replied to my post and I got all excited that he was going to tell me something about Klasse SG and me applying it over the EXP and he said nothing, :( Get me all excited and then poof, nada.:wavey

I've never applied SG onto anything but AIO. SG needs a clean surface to bond to. I'm not sure if EX-P has oils in it (like WG 'sealant'), but if so, then the SG will not be as durable as you are accustomed to.

I have some EX-P and will be testing it out, hopefully next week.

As to your orginal problem about spreading it, try misting your applicator with water. I find a dampened app works well at spreading synthetics around. I use a damp app for both SG and Z.

Bill.

Which way was the cat running down the street?

This thread is the epitome of what's wrong with Autopia today. Between the 'skript kiddies' trying to hash out something that even REMOTELY resembles english and the number of rampant loonies acting like an internet toughguy/gal. The bickering that I once only saw on tuner boards like VWVortex, honda-tech etc etc etc has now littlered the 'streets' (so to speak) of Autopia.

I joined this board in 2001 when we had REAL discussions on products that weren't made in a bathroom (UPP) and we generally understood eachother. Nobody argued that you couldn't spell weasel. When I joined this board I envied a small group of people that don't even POST here anymore! The ones that do are moderators and if they try to help someone they get flamed for their opinion on a product or method.

Why is this place full of so much hate now? It's a board about DETAILING. It's our common bond wether we use the same products or not. I personally can't take it any more and find myself frequenting Autopia less and less.

So, Detailgirl, newagain and whoever else wants to set everyone to ignore or flame them I say GO RIGHT AHEAD. Ruin the board for everyone else.

I'm done.
