Poorboys EX-P...Not impressed

So I applied EXP and I did not see anything that I like. It really did not do much. The surface prep had already been done. Put down vanilla moose with the PC then applied by hand the EXP

Its so sterile. So I topped it with Klasse SG and now its starting to look better. I have tried almost everything there is and still nothing has compared to how Zaino looked on my Polished Titanimum Maxima.

Will add a 2-3 more layers of SG then top with nattys and not **** with it again until end of October whenI AIO/SG for the winter

PB'S EX-P Works GREAT for me for the last 6 months I have also used SSR1 and Pro Polish and Natty wax ALL have work outstanding as you can see on a 04 Porsche GT2/ 03 Jag XK8 /04 Yukon Denali XL / 02 Porsche 911 Twn turbo / 04 Chevy Corvette get the picture CONTACT Steve @ poorboys and explain your problem instead of coming on here and bashing a PRODUCT

It doesn't sound like she's bashing it to me, just giving her opinion which is based on her own personal tastes, just like you gave your opinion in saying you like the product.

If we all liked the same thing there wouldn't be so many products to choose from.

I like it myself but don't expect everyone else to.

Just my .02

I don’t see product bashing, I see someone offering an opinion. Just because that opinion is different from yours doesn’t make it bashing.

Oh, you might want to use a little punctuation; it makes posts easier to read.

"Use Autopia Reviews for your personal review of a product. Use this forum to discuss products. Let's get critical!"

Not

"Lets all Hold Hands And Love Every Product"

I don't see the bashing either,it wouldn't be much of a forum if we said we loved every product.I for one can see her point,I tried EX-P and my first thought's were that it wasn't all that great. But that was applying it to a couple of panels and seeing that it didn't look any different than the Z'd panels next to it that were applied back in April.Since going over the whole car and waiting a few day's later my judgement may have been a bit premature.

Geez someone has something up their arse today. Son I have detailed more cars than you have hair.

Poorboys just did not do anything for the paint. It made the surface look wet, but dull. It had no "pop" to it. I also forgot to mention that I love a product that leaves the surface slick and silky feeling. This did not. It was as if I simply washed the car, it did not seem to add anything except perhaps a layer of protection.

Do you still have the Maxima? I don't want to read into what you said and I don't want to sound smart, but if you still have it and loved the Zaino, I would go back to Zaino even if you have to buy some more...if not then I understand you are trying to see what works best on your new ride - if this is the case what do you have and what color is it?

There are enough EX-P fans on here & DC that I'm sure you can sell your remaining supply to someone or even swap something with someone. If my bottle wasn't 90% full I'd buy it from you.

Where did you buy it from? If direct from PB, Steve is very customer focused...he would probably work something out with you. If you bought it from somewhere else see if you can exhcange it for something else. All of the places I've dealt with, and it seems I've placed at least one order with everyone, have offered great service and support.

Well one reason I did not post on DC is that they are Poorboys crazy over there kind of like how Klasse and Zaino are here. Plus well they banned me for telling a semi-dirty joke. I bought it from AutoGeek along with his QD+. I have not had a chance to use it yet because I would like to get 2-3 more coats of SG on it and I want to allow a good 48 to 72 hours to cure.

I have Zaino, just dont want to spend the time to get the PC out and AIO the whole car again.

I might try it on a darker colored car like my mothers green Tahoe and seeing how that turns out I will determine if I should offer it to my clients. Otherwise I am going to see if I can trade it for my favorite Poorboys produck, Spray and Wipe!

This is one problem with autopia, albeit a rather large one. Too many folks like this guy. Although they are not as blatantly obvious.

Oh well...

LMAO...I remember seeing you on there. I just did a search for your posts...here's your signature:

I am proud to be the first lady banned by The Fuzz. I should have listened to his warning.

They have been banning happy lately! I don't see anything yet that is bad...did they delete it?

Id post it here but if I got banned Id have nothing to do at work since we are so dead right now and I am actively seeking other work so my motivation level isnt exactly high.

Maybe he realized that you didn't think he was so smooth...

Can you PM me with it sometime?

Detail Girl, you should give UPP a shot sometime in your arsenal since you love that slick and silky finish on your cars...

And one of the good things about Autopia is that each opinion is given its true worth; the more explanation of methodology and consistency in description, and use of proper common terms in a correct context, the more weight given to that reviewer's opinion. So, a straightforward "gush" such as was posted here is considered for exactly what it is; an uncritical fawning.

I've met Steve, and he's a great guy. I've only used one of his products so far, the Natty's Wax, and I like it. Having met the man, I think it's fair to say that he wants to know not only when his products satisfy, but also when they don't; it's the only way they can be made better.
