Hi guys,

I'm about ready to get my car all ready for the winter. Here's what I plan to do this weekend. I'm working on a gray metallic car.

1. Wash
2. Iron X
3. Clay
4. Poorboy's Polish w/100% Carnauba (bought it on BOGO last month)
5. PB Black hole or BF GEP? Which is the better filler? Not sure what the GEP really does.
6. Collinite 845 -

Will I have any problems using the Collinite over a glaze? If not any suggestions on something I can top over the glaze or should I just skip the glaze?

Both products are different in terms on what your using them for. PB BlackHole is to me more of a glaze and BF Gloss Enhancing Polish is more of a very fine polish with a little glaze in it. Both work great but what about any type of polishing your going to do before them? I see you didn't post any, are going to or just skipping it?

Based on your desired use I would suggest sticking with PB BH, as it is a glaze where as BF GEP is more of a polish.

You should have no problem putting Colli #845 over top of PB BH. I have done the same thing a few times.

If using the pan above I like to clay prior to using Iron-X.

My thoughts on using products like this is to remove as much of the contamination as possible then use this product to find and remove the remaining contaminates.

PoorBoy's Black Hole is a gorgeous product and works amazingly well. Like others have indicated, it does have a little correction ability but fills minor defects quite nicely.

Instead of using a polish with carnauba, what about using a fine polish to remove oxidation and other like defects prior to using Black Hole?

Like Troy has indicated, you should have no problem topping with Collinite 845

i use bfgep quite a bit, but it's really more of a very good cleaner with some filling ability and not for any correction. it works very well and is especially good if you are dealing with a very thin clearcoat.

I don't have any polish right now. I was just going to use PB PWC. I do have some Megs ultimate compound I could use but I don't think it's needed.

I'm about to place an order on eshine. Any suggestions on what polish I should pick up along with my PB BH? I'm not looking to spend too much on the polish

If you are using PB Polish W/ Carnauba I would likely skip either. BLACKFIRE GEP will remove the carnauba content from the previous step and I'm not sure how well Blackhole will work on top of a wax.

If you are looking for maximum durability then I would use BLACKFIRE GEP, as it will clean previous products from the paint and give Collinite the best surface to bond to.

Speaking from lots of personal experience with PB products. Then C-w-C is an excellent product top that with BH is even better, I've done this on my cars for years and love the results.

I don't have any experience with Colonite wax, but have topped this combo with Nattys paste wax countless times with no issues.

That said since you are prepping for winter I would think about a sealant before laying on the wax. It's one more added protection step.

Ok I think I'll will just do Poorboys Black hole and top it off with Collinite. I've already spent nearly $500 on detailing products this past couple months and I need to slow it down. I haven't even opened most of the products that recently came in and in already placing another $150 order. What the hell might as well spend a few more bucks for the sealant and polish haha.

Ive been looking at opti-seal as a sealant. Would I be able to top the Collinite 845 on that?

I'm also not sure what polish to pick up. Might just get optimum hyper polish. I've heard good things about it but any other suggestions would be appreciated

Just another question. I do I need to do a IPA wipedown before using P-w-C or Collinite 845. I don't think I need it since the P-w-C would polish off the old wax/sealant.
