Poorboy's Application Help

Hi all,
This is my first post, so please be gentle.

I was hopping I could get some answers to some questions I have about using the Poorboy's products on my 04 Sonic Blue Mustang GT.
I have had the car for a few months and unfortunately when I purchased it the dealer had his guys detail it. I didn't now any better at the time.
Well, three hurricanes later (I'm in the central FL area) I decided I wanted to detail the car myself and use the best products I could find...I went with the Zaino system. I followed all the steps, dawn wash , clay bar etc...
6 coats of Z5 later, over the last several weeks, the shine is great, the QD is awesome. But the depth is not there and I see some micro marring on the vehicle, Yes I used the 100% cotton towels as instructed, it just doesn't seem to have the look I'm after.
So after doing some more reading of the forums here, I have decided to use the Poorboy,s line of products.
Here are the items I have and the ones I am going to get

Have:
I purchased this kit Sonüs DAS Polisher Kit
The Zaino ZFX system
100% cotton towels
SSR1
SSR 2.5
4*UGE (ultimate gloos enhancer) thank you Premium Auto Care for the free product :)

Going to Get:
PP
EX
Natty's

Ok, now for my Question(s)

I was just wondering what you guys and gals would do in this situation ?Please keep in mind that I have only used the PC from Sonus once.
I would like to get rid of as much of the micro marring as I can and cover any remaing imperfections, if I am unable to remove them.

Any help on application techniques or recommendations on products is greatly appreciated.

Thank You for your wisdom in advance :)

use PP first, using polishing pad ...apply until it completely work in, let it dry and wipe off, SSR2.5 same and use at speed of 5-5.5, SSR1 same, then EX by hand or finishing pad, let dry completely, then Natty's by hand, do whole car wipe off...reapply another coat in a couple days ..good luck :bigups

Thank you Poorboy for the information. When you say "work it in" to what degree ? In other words how will I know when enough is enough ?

Can I use either one of the QD's I have to maintain it ?

Is there a maximum amount of layers I can do with Natty's ?

I would suggest changing the cotton towels with some soft microfiber towels.

:yeah

You will notice less micromarring with microfiber than with terry cloth generally. As you will read in numerous posts here, there is a difference between the microfiber at Walmart than the speciatly providers...that being said many of us use the cheaper towels for grunt work like door jambs, wheels, etc. Costco has some decent towels, but if you really get into it I'd order some from SMP, Poorboy's, PAC, Autogeek, Excel Detail, Adam's, Wayne's or PakShack. There is a lot of debate as to who has the best towels even.

One tip with any type of towel...wash it before you use it. You will greatly reduce or eliminate any linting and marring.

I hope you like your Poorboy's products as much as I like them!

hi sealman, welcome to DC.

The previous post by Poorboy (steve) is the owner of Poorboy's, I'd take anything he has to say to the bank, especially when he's talking about his own products.

Definitely look into some quality (not Wal-Mart) MF towels for product removal & consider WW towels for drying. Autogeek has a good 2-for-1 deal on Miracle towels, they're 70%-30% & really soft. I've also picked up some MF towels from SMP & the quality is excellent.

Wal-Mart MF is OK for glass & wheels but that's about it.

Definitely wash MF before using & wash MF separately from other fabrics using Woolite, a detergent that does not contain any bleach or fabric softener, or one of the specialty soaps made specifically for MF products.

Thank you mttode.
I have been giving this some serious thought, Im just trying to decide which ones to go with, like you said there is a lot of debate about these, so It makes it difficult to decide.

All of the sponsors here have good microfiber...the next time you order from one of them pick up a starter kit. I know Autogeek has a sale going on right now...SMP has a good starter kit too that is very reasonable. The Poorboy's starter kit is reasonable too and gives you a good assortment. Over time you'll probably build up a nice collection.

You may also want to invest in a good microfiber detergent. I used Woolite or All Free & Clear in the past and probably will again in the future, but have found that a specialty wash like the Pinnacle Micro Rejevenator for example really leave your mf towels feeling the best. Right now I'm using Sonus Wunder Wash.
