Poor Boy's Ssr's

Hello Everyone,



Just looking for someone to share there experience with the Poorboy's Products. SSR1, SS2, SSR2.5, SSR3. I am thinking of purchasing the whole line. Should I skip the SSR2.5? What's a good wax to follow up these products? I have a PC with Orange pad, Yellow pad, White pad and Gray pad. Which is the best pad to use with what products?

If I were you, I'd buy SSR2.5 and SSR1. Those two products will tackle almost any problem you'll encounter. SSR3 is very agressive and not usually needed. SSR2.5 would do anything SSR2 would handle and more. I'd use a white pad for both products.
 
I have used both and IMO I think DACP is a bit more aggressive. SSR2.5 will leave a better finish though. IMO, SSR1, SSR2, and SSR2.5 would be very nice to start out with.



I tend to think of SSR1 as a very mild cleaner that will leave a very glossy wet finish, one of the best final polishes around IMO.



The SSR2 is IMO comparable to #80 in its' ability to remove swirls and blemishes.



SSR2.5 is like a compound that breaks down into a polish and leaves a very nice finish. If worked properly you can go straight to wax. SSR2.5 is just a tad bit less abrasive than DACP IMO.

I might go ahead and get the SSR3 instead of the SSR2.5 since most of the cars I worked on are older, parked in the streets and heavily scratched. SSR3, SSR2, SSR1 will be the combo. How's the EX-P wax? I just ordered the Pinnacle Souvereign Liquid wax and wanted to try it out. I'll post on the results.
 
Do yourself a favor and order SSR2.5, it is my go to product, I have tackled some pretty nasty scratches w/ it. It's cutting power seems to be in the way you work it, the abrasive's breakdown pretty fast so I normally make some quick passes as soon as I apply the product and then progressively work slower to polish out the panel. It seems to breakdown fine enouigh that you can usually just go to your LSP, but sometime's SSR1 might be needed as a follow up. If anything I'd leave SSR2 out of the lineup and just get 2.5.
 
I'd say talk to Steve about the SSR3 before you buy it...Scott P is right. SSR2 can achieve much the same results with a yellow pad as SSR2.5 with a polish pad, according to Steve...but since you don't have anything yet...just get SSR2.5 and SSR1 and use with polish pads as advised above. I think that is VERY sound advice and you will be happy.

Get them all. I only detail average two cars per week. Each on of Steve's polishes come in handy at different times.
 
I've actually started using SSR3.0 , then SSR1 instead of SSR2.5 ..



I've found SSR2.5 (purple stuff) not aggressive enough for those deeper swirls.



JMHO though..
 
montoya..3.5? What are you talking about:nixweiss Ive seen you mention this in a couple threads. You know something we dont?
 
Maybe, he mixes the SSR2.5 and SSR1 together that's how you get SSR3.5 (just kiddin). For real though I don't think there is a 3.5. The higest I've seen at Autogeek is SSR3. I am not sure if I can ask this question here but I will ask it anyway. You know a site where I can get the good deals on Poorboys?
