Poor Boys Sample kit

It's ok .. I just picked up the Caddy from the body shop and am just waiting to go home and show the family and take the dog for a ride (she will miss the ac)
you can be any which way you want to be :)

yes, I do appreciate the reviews, we are probably a month or two away from the final product ready to be released, barring anything we find out that needs to be tweaked from these reviews ;)

... really .. penmanship .. that doesn't exist anymore

Sir, I have to disagree. It might be rare, but it still exists (yes, I'm referring to myself). Heck, I even bought an old-school (or more like antique-school) dip pen with ink bottle so I can write my girl a nice love letter.

Well sort of ... they are called sample size vs full size, yes giving people the opportunity to spend more for less product, but at the same time keeping those who have a hard time committing for a full size bottle the shelf space to try more and more products until they find the ones they like.

And I for one, am VERY grateful to Poorboys for making sample sized bottles. Just haven't bought them  But will. Have also bought sample sized bottles from other MFGs to try out products. I learned from having a few regular-sized CG products sitting on my shelf, only having been used once or twice, that I would prefer to research the heck out of a product, or try a sample before buying. Of course, keeping those samples reasonably priced is very important to *me* as well. It could be good for marketing, too.

Example: My buddy and I went to some local shop's "open house" and Mothers was there handing out free samples. I tried their window cleaner. My friend did the same. He loves it. Me, I've tried at least half a dozen window cleaners (not PB's..yet) and it easily became my favorite, to the point where I ended up buying a six pack of the regular size bottles. And I can tell you with certainty, that I would never have tried Mother's window cleaner (ReVision) if it weren't for the free sample. I even have a free gallon of another MFG's concentrated window cleaner waiting for it to be redeemed at a local store, but nah. I'll wait til my Mother's is out.

yes, I too have received small free samples over the years, but most were only enough to do a very small area and not get a full use (there are exceptions) .. when we started this program we wanted people to be able to do a whole vehicle or with some quite a few whole vehicles, which is why we chose 4oz .. we are looking into 2oz packets and we will see how that works out...

That is exactly why I like the idea of the 4oz sample kits. As a weekend warrior I am always making notes of products I want to eventually try knowing full well they won't be on my annual (maybe semi-annual) order. The sample kit allows me to try more products on my entire car.

Heck I think I've had the same jar of natty's blue for 5 years, and I use it, but with only one car it lasts a long long long time.

I think 4 oz is good for try it to see if you like but 6 to 8 oz is more practical for a "smaller" size. I suspect the cost is probably the same given the labor involved in filling the bottles.

Guess what just came in ????

See I'd add the red to a white car kit w/ White diamond replacing Black hole and adding a sample of Super Slick & Suds Shampoo so you have a complete dark car or light car system approach.

how's this

Have you ever thought of marketing a package like this to dealerships? This would be an incredible "freebie" (lol - nothing is free at a dealership) they could include with the purchase of a new car...

At any rate, perfect gift for someone (or even yourself) that just purchased a new light-colored car.

we sell to a few dealers, but as you said they are incredibly cheap and don't like the word FREE ...

sadly 99% of new cars sold are not to Autopians or people who care more than going through a tunnel wash ... imagine if a detail shop had the lines a tunnel wash gets on a nice day :jawdrop:

Good point, and didn't think of it from that angle. I just see threads here along the lines of "...Just bought this [insert whatever]... how do I keep it shiny and protected?"

Boom, Poorboy's to the rescue.

I have been doing car shows for almost 30 years and most of my customers started as just people who came to see show cars .. once they are educated they start taking care of their cars much better, but they are still far from Autopians :autopia:
