We had kids with new z/28s, Trans Ams, etc driving to school and at no point was I jealous or feel the need to vandalize their car because someone their age shouldn't have one.
I would agree owning a car like that *may* make it a target for some lowlife to mess with it but it isn't the owner of the car who has a problem. It is the scum who mess with them who need to modify their behavior.
I agree with Scott here it does not matter who is driving that car , it does not give anyone the right to take out there jealousy in such a manner. I was not a rich kid growing up but I did save alot of my money during high school and was able to afford a used 1988 BMW M5 for my first car , it was used but still a high line car. Just because I was in high school should I not have been allowed to have such a nice car , no. And it certainly didn't give anyone the right to do something like this to anyones car - period.
If I was local to these guys I would volunteer my detailing services to help clean this mess up!
