I'm not the noobiest noob when it comes to detailing but i completely suck at waxing and restoring my paint...

I have a 6" Round buffer idk what kind..

I use turtle wax rubbing compound

NuFinish Scratch remover stuff

Nufinsih polish

and meguiars cleaning wax

and i used that process now i have a billion little scratches all over idk what to do.. ill get you guys some pics... but yes i joined here for your help!

:welcome

You made the mistake of using that Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound on your fairly new G8.

Go to your local Walmart and buy a bottle of Meguiars SwirlX and Meguiars Ultmate Compound and some foam applicator pads.

Apply the SwirlX with the foam applicator pad to a small section and see if that removes the scratches, try the Ultimate Compound if that does not work.

Why would you apply the Rubbing Compound to the entire car or any part of the car at all?

i had tons of swirls all over the car.. and i guess i got the wrong one.. i didnt know there was a clear coat safe

Might wanna look into a Griots or a Porter Cable RO. Difficult to harm the paint and leaves a nice finish. That rotary will chew **** up n a hurry if you're not careful.

Good luck and welcome!

It’s probably wash induced marring that your seeing. GM clear is hard as a rock so I would invest in a random orbital and M105/M205 combo and Megs cutting and polishing pads. Shoot me a PM I can help you out if you want. I’m local.

Where in Chicago are you?

I'm over in Schiller Park, we should all meet up some time and work on each others vehicles?? (get a beer afterwards, or hell even while we're detailing)
