Pontiac G6 clean-up

First, I don't post often here on Autopia, but I read to learn almost every day.

For now, I'm only at the step of using a PC to do my work, but I love reading here. :dance

Since tomorrow is my mom's birthday in addition of mothers day, I decided to please her by shinning up her car.

The car is a Pontiac G6 sedan 2006, bought in November 2005 with about 45k km on the clock. She always keeps her car clean, but I decided it was time for a bit of pait work. The paint on this car seems to be very easy to scratch. Kinda strange though, ease to scratch, but they are a PITA to remove. Interior was like new, so no need to do it for her.

Process :

I mainly used Meguiar's product for this detail.

Used my Meguiar's G100 to do this.

wash wheels, tires and wheels wells using APC

wash the car using 2 buckets method and NXT soap

dry with Absorber and WaterMagnet

wiped doors jambs and rims with Last Touch to make them shine

clay with Meg's blue clay lubrificated by Last Touch

#83 with a yellow pad on problematic areas

#80 with a yellow pad on the whole car

#26 Yellow Wax

#21 2.0

final wipe with Ultimate Detailer

tires wear Meg's Endurance high gloss

mirors, lower black trims, flaps and wheel wells wear All Season Dressing.

Mom was very please. :)

Total time was just above 4 hours.

Sorry I forgot to take a before pic.

Those are only afters.

Hah, red is surprisingly tough to work with. Looks very glossy and I like how well you treated the fenderwells. Nice job!

Thanks for the comments guys !

This morning, the neighbor who wash his cars with a bucket and a rag came and asked how I was able to make a 3 years old car to shine this good. Well, I only smiled as I knew it wasn't worth to explain...

Today in full sun the car looks very wet. #26 followed with #21 2.0 is my new favorite combo.
