hey i did a search on polishing and cant find much. i am wondering what is a really good one because im going to "winterize" my car tomorrow. first im going to clay it then use a cleaner/polisher on it. i have meguiars and also zymol. i just dont know what one to use....

and do you think that the gold class is a good sealer to use to get an amazing shine?

thanks,

-Jonny

Which cleaner polish will depend on what you're trying to accomplish. What do you have on hand and what are you trying to do?

I dunno how long the GC will last, but it oughta look good (at least for a while).

Wow, you've got lots 'o reading to do... If you aren't gonna buy any more products until spring...use the zymol and top it with the gold class. Or only use the gold class.

Gold Class can give a nice shine, but it won't last very long. Definitely use a good polish and then a quality sealant on top to protect for the winter.

Zymol is good stuff but your going to have to re-apply a lot. It's not something like Zaino or klasse that will last through the winter. If your going for multiple coats of protection at once try Zaino. If your going economical try klasse and put a new coat on for the next couple days. Both of them will work with AIO or p21s cleaner, I see you didn't mention your cleaner. What cleaner you pick will effect how durable you "winterizing" will be. Some cleaner waxes or oily glazes will cut down durabilty time of your sealant. But I know for sure p21s and AIO will be a good cleaner for you to put a sealant on top. If you don't mind detailing your paint every couple weeks use that zymol, but again you didn't metion what zymol product you have. When I winterize a car I chose Zaino or klasse so if you forget to wax one month your still covered.

How badly defected is your car determins weather or not you need to do some serious polishing and depending upon just how fanatical you really are.

If you got some minor to moderate swirling, maybe the paint could use a boost of shine. Start out with maybe something like Meguiars #83 DACP on a W-8006 polishing pad on speed 5 with a PC.

Or if your just looking for that extra edge in shine and your paint is in pretty good shape. Then maybe all you need is #82 SFP on either a W-8006 pad or W-9006 finishing pad on speed 5 wiith a PC. Wax with some NXT or just whatever you choose to use. You can use 2 coats of NXT if you wish but do wait at least 12 hours before applying the next coat so NXT has time to set up. I will warn you though, 2 coats of NXT only makes you want to just keep going until your face is green:p :LOLOL

I agree with the others, do some reading up in the learning section of this forum about polishing, galzing, waxing, cleaning, claying etc... until your hearts content,,,,,,,AR
