Polishing & sealing NEW paint?

I had my 91 integra painted frost white with a heavy silver pearl about 3 months ago. Its garage kept and hardly driven, Ive washed it a few times but now Im ready to polish, seal, and wax.

My plan was to start with Megs #7, follow that up with either EX or EX-P, and top it all off with S100 paste wax. Does this sound like a good plan?

What product would you recommend for polishing brand new paint or is it even neccesary?

Should I go with EX or EX-P?

Finally whats a good product for removing minor overspray on my glass, wiper cowl, and wheels?

I might exchange the #7 for something like Poorboy's SSR1. I hear that #7 is full of oils and filler, which might shorten the life of the sealant you decide to apply.

It was necessary for my new 2005 truck. I would recommend SSR1, or something along those lines.

I really, really, really........like the look of the new EX-P on my white truck. It is very reflective & slick. Also, it seems top keep the bugs from attaching themselves to the truck. They just seem to come right off with S&G and a MF towel swipe.

Clay.

HTH!

Too bad you don't have some AIO...... it would work great as a foundation on that color!

I would also go with the EX-P..... after 2 or 3 coats, I would top with the S100.

Thanks for the feedback

BOSS 429, what exactly makes the AIO a great foundation for my paint color? ... I was planning on going with SSR1 since Im purchasing other Poorboy's products very soon but after reading your comment Im curious about the AIO.

Is megs#7 only supposed to be used as a polish before waxing or can you apply it over a wax or sealant?

I have a brand new container of megs#7 and I would like to use it at some point and now Im not sure when Ill get the chance. If its going to affect the longevity of the sealant I dont want to use it as my main polish. How can I get some use out of this stuff?

You can use the #7. I think it's called show car glaze or something like that isn't it? I would use it as such - a glaze. I don't know how much real "polishing" ability that it has, I think it is more along the lines of filling the marring instead of removing it. I would say go ahead and use it, and if you don't like the look don't use it again. If you do like it, then..... :) I would use it after my main polishing routine, but before the application of the sealant. It will probably shorten the "protective" life of the sealant, but if you'r elike the rest of us, you won't wait three months or longer to try something different anyway. I say give it a shot, you can't lose anything by trying. :bigups

I seldom use #7 because it's a PITA to get off.. I also use it with a carnauba, since sealants can't bond properly to an oily finish :)
