Ok guys I received my Flex 3401 the other day and I so stupidly did not order some M105/205.

I did a friends car a 2005 E500 benz. I washed it, did the whole clay thing, And went to town with some Ardex "Hard at it" along with a LC orange pad. Then since the car with black I used some Ardex 4212-b glaze. I think that's the right number for it. Anyways it's for black finishes. The total time on this car was about 6 hours. After finishing the car it looked EXTREMELY great in the garage. Once I had her all wiped down and out side I noticed that none of the Cob webs went away. Although the car did look shiny and what not it still in my eyes looked like crap and I felt like smashing the Flex and adding gas to it.

So I picked up Both M105/205 and Griot's Orange pads. I wanted to ask since I have not used it yet! What would be the best way to go about this on the next car I do? How long should it take me to say do a Fender? Basically I know there is no one set answer for this since every single car is different. But I figured might as well ask you guys before wasting product on a car that will end up yielding bad results.

Thanks for the help.

As far as the Ardex products, I know Barry uses them and has put out some awesome looking cars using Ardex, so he should be able to answer any questions you have about them.

About the 105/205. You will love the combination and the results. On some black vehicles, I have found that you still may have to finish up with a Micro Polish like Menz PO85RD or 3M Ultrafina. I cannot comment on the Griots orange pads, since I never used them. I have only used the 3M, Right Look, Sonus and LC pads. Although, I have a fresh order of Megs softbuff pads sitting in my garage waiting to be used once the weather breaks.

As far as time, again, this is a difficult question which would be based on severity of defects, hardness of clear, color of vehicle, size of vehicle, type of pad/polish combination, rotary vs. flex vs. PC. Assuming moderate defects, moderate hardness, average sized vehicle, correct polish/pad combo...I would guestimate you can do a fender in around 30-40 mintues (2 step) with a Flex.
