polishing/finishing in one step...

Looking for a one step method to get rid of buffer swirls after heavy compounding. Im thinking of something like a medium cut polish (ssr 2.5 or hitemp medium cut) with a black finishing pad. not looking for perfection. will this do?

Hi,

My favorite final step after compounding is Menzerna´s Final Polish and the Porter Cable with very nice results even after apply Power Gloss or Meg´s M84 with rotary.

If you can, try and good look.

Do you have anything less aggressive than a medium polish? A final polish, SSR1, Menz FPII, PO85RD, etc on a black pad would probably finish better.

Yea but i heard some medium polish like ssr2.5 and such will finish off hologram free and yet does a lot of correction too.

I don't know about a lot of correction because you're using a non-abrasive black pad. I've used finishing polishes with a black pad that does some correction and will do what you're looking for as well as finish very nice and glossy.

depending on the type of paint....

poliseal - orange pad, white pad, blue pad

hitemp EC - almost finishes down lsp ready, while cutting a lot! switch to this compound and you might enjoy it more!

megs 66 will remove a little, and cover up the rest

fpII if the holograms are not real deep as FPII doesnt really have too much in the form of abrasives....

those are the products I use

I have not usedit , but megs #66 I have seen a few cars done with this at a local shop. It appears to be a good cleaner light polish and adds some protection. The cars looked great! I wish they had 32oz bottles.
