Polishing compound residue

I recently had the front bumper on my car repainted to take care of some small rock chips. The body shop polished the bumper once it was installed on the car. In the seam between the bumper and the fender there is white polishing compound residue. The car is black and the residue is very noticeable. Short of removing the bumper is there a good method to remove the compound?

You can try getting a microfiber towel soaked in all purpose cleaner in there. Or you can use a soft bristle boars hair brush, or even a soft bristle toothbrush (be careful of scratches)

That's what I was thinking too. Much as I like BHBs, it seems that by the time you get one soft enough to not mar the paint it's too soft to clean out the residue.
 
Yeah, 95% of the time i can get any polish residue cleaned out with a microfiber towel in there. I guess it really matters how much they got in there.

The problem is that you cannot get anything bigger than a sewing needle in the seam. I wonder if steam will be effective in that tight a seam.
