What does everybody think of megs #2 and then #9 with a DA? Will it give good results?



Do you think they're quality materials? they seem to cheap to be good so i'm asking to see what everyone thinks.

#9 is very, very mild. IMHO it’s too mild for the DA if you want to correct flaws.



The new formula #2 has a good level of cut to it and is easy to work. Just be sure that you pick up a new bottle that says it’s for hand, orbital, DA and rotary. Some places might still have old stock on hand of the old formula (which is for rotary only).

I'd think so. #80 is a great product and has alot of fans here

If you’re want to correct flaws by PC then #80 is definitely far more effective than #9. All around, #80 is and very versatile product.

I agree ... #80 works well via PC and #9 does very very little as far as swirl removal. Plus, I think #80 is easier to work and leave a better finish.

how bout #84? Do all you guys think that is a good substitute for all the high end polishes (Like Prima or Optimum)?

#9 IIRC has fillers in it, so while it will remove very mild swilrs, it is also likely to be filling them too. #80 on the other hand does not contain fillers, and removes the defects - a wipe down with IPA after using it confirms that the defects are removed rather than filled.



#84 is an aggressive compound, and while some have had good results using it by PC in terms of defect removal, it will definitely need followed with a lighter abrasive to remove the micromarring that it will leave behind. Before venturing up to using #84, I would try out #83 first as it may not be necessary to use the more aggressive compound.
