Polishes with fillers?

Well, I feel like I learned a few things. I noticed that I have no bonding problems using IP and FFII, but I did have a problem with Z5 after 106 on a silver Acura. Got three weeks out of it. IP does dust, it can be a pain, but I prefer dust to the sticky, gooey, gummy mess some poilishes have and pad clean up after IP is so easy. Let's face it, I don't do M-B's or Beemers, I do GM, Toyota and Hondas mostly.

Brilliant discussion!!!! I've been waiting for this for some time. :bigups

Tod, I have to agree with your logic and conclusions - they reflect MY experiences with Menzerna CC polishes.

Deanski, please don't take this as a snub to you. I really respect your thoughts and experiences in this thread. In fact I agree with much of what you say.

I guess I agree with both sides of this excellent discussion. To me THIS is the definitive Menzerna CC polish discussion on Autopia thus far. :thx

It should be made a 'sticky'.

For me, the bottom line is this. In summary: No Menzerna polishes contain fillers per se. The CC polishes contain lubricating oils that are not meant to fill and don't when used on CC paint with the proper technique.

Most (~80%) of us use them on non-CC paint which causes unintended results. Namely, the polish doesn't break down properly leaving (due to soft paint/insufficient work time) the lubricating oils behind that conceal the true result.

So I would modify the question from "does Menzerna CC polishes contain fillers" - which answer is 'no' - to "can Menzerna CC polishes conceal when not used properly" - which answer is 'yes'.

The solution: use Menzerna CC polishes as intended and you'll have no problems. :hifive:

P.S. To the poster who asked about 85RD. The above comments apply to ALL Ceramiclear polishes. That includes PO85RD 3+, PO106FF, PO85RE5 and PO85RD. :)

On non ceramiclear paints, I've never had any filling.

However 106 and 1990's japanese paints have been some trouble

2.5 minutes with rotary - probably as quick as you would want to apply 106 or RD if you don't want the lubes hiding anything

case - 1994 hilux - clearcoated

The 106 makes the rotary hop, skip and jump around and the polish dries up

Switch to Driven to Perfection Finish Restorer and auto polish and not a drama and a blinding snow white finish
