ABSOLUTLY NOT!!! I wouldn't even use that to apply wax. Save your money and buy a quality polisher. If you are new to machine polishing start with a Porter Cable random orbit polisher, you can find out a lot of info on this if you do some reading here on Autopia.

Really, save your money and buy a good polisher. These type of machines are just toys, they have no power to polish out marring. Apply any pressure to these machines and they will pretty much stop moving, and you need to use pressure to polish paint. I use a rotary polisher and I still need to use pressure to polish the paint most of the time. Most people here start out with a PC (Porter cable polisher) as they are easy to use and have the power for swirl removal. Oh yeah, welcome to Autopia.
